    3 remarks:
    1. Brian Lake: 3 years at the Hawks after looking washed up at the Bulldogs = 3 premierships. Not bad.
    2. Who was the genius who thought Partrick Veszpremi was better than Cyril Rioli?
    3. One consolation is that those disgusting WCE fans emptied their pockets for a miserable experience.

Nice point. 2012 becomes more significant each year... On another point, what happened to Seven's "HD" coverage?? They're pathetic, and we have to put up with them for at least five more years! (I refuse to get Foxtel!)

Rioli made it very clear he would not play outside Victoria. Also, Emma Quayle thought Veszpremi was great.

The commentators said something along the lines of in this era no team should be allowed to dominate like Hawthorn because of equalisation, drafting etc.
Are they idiots? If you can pillage the best players from the opposition (yes I agree most from bottom clubs - & usually not recycling unwanted players) while your stronger opposition are penalised & prevented from bringing in players, it gives you a fair chance of performing this well.

            I. Hate. Hawthorn.

Also the commentators gushed over the "3 peat" (Bruce Wankervaney, that phrase was coined for the Bulls whose dominance craps all over the Dorks), I thought, they've played in four successive grand finals, that's not a bad effort, & I knew South did it in the 30s (albeit for a reverse result of just one win and a 3 peat of losses ... we can use it for the Swans as Pratt was our Jordan). I wondered how unique 4+ successive VFL/AFL grand finals is.

            Fitzroy 1903-6 (LWWL)
            Carlton 1906-10 (WWWLW)
            Collingwood 1917-20 (WLWL)
            Collingwood 1925-30 (LLWWWW)
            Richmond 1931-4 (LWLW)
            South Melb 1933-6 (WLLL)
            Collingwood 1935-9 (WWLLL)
            Essendon 1946-51 (WLDLWWL)
            Melbourne 1954-60 (LWWWLWW)
            North Melb 1974-8 (LWLDWL)
            Hawthorn 1983-9 (WLLWLWW)
            Brisbane 2001-4 (WWWL)
            Hawthorn 2012-5 (LWWW)

The commentators may rate this team as the greatest ... I think others might debate it.

So, if the Swans drafted him, he wouldn't have played AFL footy outside Vic? I call BS on that!

Most boring Grand Final since last year. Listening to Roy & HG"s commentary on the Festival of the Boot made it bearable though. They awarded the Dyer Medal (for the player who most hopelessly fails to live up to expectations) to Josh "Cuban Missile Crisis " Kennedy.

Plus HG enunciated his formula for kicking set shots: you have to have the four Bs in perfect alignment - brain, buttocks, boot and ball.

You know how it is. Clubs are very reluctant to draft players who don't want to go there.

Nick Smith told Roos he didn't want to play for sydney before he was drafted now he's in the leadership group. Things change

I can see no reason why Hawthorn can't do this again next year. The AFL really need to rethink free agency if they want an even competition.

Free agency has been an absolute disaster.

Sorry, but they had a selfie stick in their team song. They are officially tools. It makes their three peat redundant.
