JORDAN DAWSON PROFILE
Date of Birth: 9/4/1997
Height: 189cm
Weight: 85kg
Club: Sturt/Scotch College
Position: Forward/Utility
Plays like: Jack Gunston
Sturt swingman Jordan Dawson has used Pilates to overcome a persistent back ailment in time for the AFL National Draft in Adelaide on November 24.
Struck down by the nagging injury midway through the season, Dawson followed a series of exercises to post a strong second half of the year with the Double Blues.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 18-year-old said the experience he gained from playing five IGA League matches was invaluable as he continues to grow into his versatile frame of 189cm and 85kg.
Originally from Robe in the state?s south-east, Dawson likens himself to Hawthorn premiership forward Jack Gunston, given his flexibility and ability to play higher up the ground on the wing.
Having completed Year 12 at Scotch College in 2014, the well-spoken teenager has begun studying Sports Management at the University of SA.
In the videos above, Dawson shows of his contested marking ability after snaring a screamer on debut against Port Adelaide.
Against Central in Round 17, he displays his accurate left-foot kick with a nice baulk and goal on the run from just inside the 50m arc.Staying ahead of the game...Comment

Jordan Dawson (189 cm, 85 kg, Sturt)
I?m a massive fan of Jordan Dawson, who had a really unfortunate championships suffering from concussion and a back injury. He?s a really versatile third tall forward who can play up the ground and potentially in defence too. When forward he finds space and makes things happen, and up the ground he?s a really solid link up player. He just finds space to help transition with such ease. He?s working on an inside game; but I really like what I see from him."be tough, only when it gets tough"

What's the impact of Melbourne bidding on Mills?I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Like the look of our 2 new left footers! They'll be given time and we could use some explosive, powerful kicking and X factor in the side!Comment
