Need to get him signed up ASAP. Don't care what it costs.

Leaving Mills on Gunston was brave but a fantastic learning experience for him. Jones and Hewett are both looking more at home now. A good win but not a great win.
I don't usually comment on the umpires but tonight they were crap.

What a pathetic and totally disrespectful description of a club champ.

McVeigh was fine and will only get better as the year goes on.

Totally agree, an ignorant post but I'd expect nothing less

That would be nice. We must value his on field leadership immensely as his contribution is lacking elsewhere.

A fairly lacklustre effort from the Captain in a big game.

If Parker just needs an arthroscopy or some other procedure that sees him out for 4-6 weeks I'd bite the bullet and get him done so he is right for the business end of the season, he's too important a player for us not to have at full fitness

Also agree. It's no fun being wedded to your contrariness - barry, let it go mate.

So pleased for Hewett, Lloyd, and Rampe tonight. Great games. All playing their best footy. Jones is cutting down on his bad decisions, had some good moments.

Tippett possibily my favourite player right now. Wins a high percentage of contests, is marking and kicking well. Making few mistakes. Very focused.

I think Sinclair will be OK. Reckon confidence is an issue and that will improve.

Jones has copped a bit of criticism in here about his progress but I see him being a no nonsense very solid first team member, not a star but exactly the type of player you need to have success. He is coming along nicely as far as I can see.

Tippett really seems to have stepped up as a leader this year, from what I've heard he is the consummate professional in terms of his preparation and lifestyle, a true pro and a great role model

This week will be the hardest ever to pick players who most deserve TLM votes. I can easily think of a dozen who I'd like to vote for.

I am surprised at some of the criticism of Sinclair. Sure, it would be nice if he could hold a few more marks, but he got himself in the right spot at the right time on lots of occasions and neutralised contests even when he couldn't win them. I thought it was one of his better contributions so far this season.

Another player who won't earn votes from me tonight but who I want to comment on is Heeney - and specifically his tackling. Last week he gave away at least four free kicks in our forward fifty for head high tackles against Richmond players. His enthusiasm was commendable but his technique was poor and resulted in us just handing back possession to the Tigers. It just shows how smart he is (and his determination to improve) that this week he came out and executed a handful of really important tackles just as vigorously but with perfect technique so as not to make high contact or get in a player's back. It's truly exciting to think how complete a player he looks like developing into.

What I took from the game was Hewitt. Great stuff - really starting to make a mark.
Will be interesting to see how he handles it when he earns some respect from opposition and some pressure is applied.

McVeigh watch. No real clangers like last week.. Didn't cost us too much, but didn't contribute much either.
His lack of speed and pressure are becoming concerning. Being thrown around the ground should be a worry for him, as it seems the Swans are trying to find the right role for him.
Next couple of weeks will be telling

Sinclair is a bit of a worry.
Still not sold on Jones. I really want to be though.

Getting rid of the "Brain Fade" free kicks against has been a bonus. I thought he was pretty solid tonight. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a run further up the ground at some stage.

Hewett - This why you need real footy players, smart, great decisions and disposals
                        Buddy - just being buddy
Mills - on Gunston, great lesson, but give it everything and brave and will play 250 games.
Heeney - just a gun, would we needed.
Smooch - Blanketed Rioli and no Bruce stroking himself
Laidler - This is why he plays every game, courageously every contest
Ramps & Reg - just great, nothing more
Tippett - A grader, as Ruck and killed them and good forward
                        Hannebery -our heart and soul
JPK - Covered Mitchell with Titch and a warrior
Titch - mitchell beat him early but after q1 just 4 more possessions
Parker - got it alot but made no impact
Lloyd - played as our link man, solid game.
Sinclair - just needs to toughen up, weak efforts, and take your marks
Benny - great as small forward but decisons in the mids will always with problems
Kizza and Macca - just fair games and some dodgy skills and I not think they will ever dominate their men or games.
Jones - some very good a little bad and couple of ugly. Just one free and 4 tackles. Maybe needs to play as tagger or in mids and cracking at the ball.
Harry - got 19 posssies but can't tell what he did. I think he was playing similar to Lloyd.

Obviously you were blinded by the light. Lloydy was one of our best. He was so good in saving our bacon on so many occasions tonight and spread so well to allow so many scoring opportunities.

You have answered your own question through the use of the word "Rioli".

It works in the same way as the word "Rance".

I have long thought the same thing. This is a guy who trots out his Broadmeadows origins at every available opportunity, while living in a $13 million mansion in Toorak. The hypocrisy is beyond revolting - talk about shameless. We should start a social media wave of referring to him as the Toorak Trillionaire every time any of us comment. maybe it will catch on and highlight his incredible double standards.

Young George has always impressed me in the Twos. Last year I was sure they would play him bt they decided not to due to his immaturity in the body. He impressed me today with his composure and willingness to take the game on. He set up a couple of great plays, one a goal. @@@@ if this kid ever starts to get 30 disposals tbhe opposition will be absolutely stuffed.

He just needs to keep on working hard and over time the marks will stick a bit more but he does provide a good contest and I like his workrate. From what I've seen he is still a fair way ahead of the other two rucks you mention, I see Nanka as a long term third ruckman who plays 4-6 games a year and ekes out a good honest 75 game AFL career

He has plenty of brownie points in the bag but I thought Parker was poor tonight, it was so out of character I would not be surprised if he is playing hurt at the moment. He may need a break if that is the case

He won the Phelan Medal for Best and Fairest in the League

So Lukie gets 30 and is poor. I'd hate to see a game in which he was really poor. He played pretty well tonight just not as extravagantly as usual. He did a lot more in and under and broke the packs for Joey. To get 30 @ 60 is ok I think in his position.
