I did not see the incident. Does anyone know when it occurred?
It occurred late in the second quarter, at the same time that Hawthorn were getting the holding the ball decision against Laidler, that led to their first goal. If you want to see it via the AFL replay, the best shot of it is around about 24: 30 on their timer. Still, from that angle, it's hard to see exactly what happened. It could have been a jumper punch; without the jumper. Possibly an elbow. Or most likely, a grab and rake of Hannebery's throat. Anyway, it left Hanners on hunched on the ground, struggling to recover. Once recovered, Hannebery devoted a fair amount of time explaining to Psycho Sam why it wasn't acceptable.

Though I am drawing a blank in your reference to "3 strikes"?
A lot of people have been guessing that buddy's absence last year was due to him having a 3rd strike for drug use.
Unproven, as is the assumption he already has 2.

There was an incident on the other side of the ground to me where Mitchell tried to take Sinclair's head off, and got away with it.
Surely there were enough moments for him to cop a reset.

We all know that sniper and his mates are a protected species. Another team mate should have been suspended the week prior. He wasn't even reported. They will only have a cursory look at the Mitchell incident and move on.

Not the least that Buddy is a freak.

I thought Reg played one of his best games for a long while. Very calm and composed.
Early in the 2nd term he shoved a player out of the way with his hands and took the mark. Last week he did a similar thing with his body, no hands, and got pinged. I was bemused.

But the calmest of the lot was young George.
How good is this bloke? Probably his best game. A couple of times he had the ball in heavy traffic and managed to think his way through it and come out unscathed.
          Very impressed with his game.

Oh and Hawks supporters are sooks.
          - 3 Strikes.
          - COLA.
          - Cheats.
          - on and on it went.
Even the pie supporter in front of me was horrified by their behaviour.
And that was in the MCC Reserve.

          Bring on the Roos!!!
It was hilarious reading the comments from the Hawks supporters on Bigfooty. They are the biggest sooks in the league. Apparently, they only lost due to; COLA, us cheating, umpires cheating, academies and they played like crap.

          Check out these hilarious comments;
          "Helping of cheating umpiring tonight."
"Too much COLA, rental assistance and academy players in the end."
          "I ******* hate those ******* banjos."
          "See username" (from ShoveYourCOLA). Followed by;
"Mate your user name is legendary ! I'd love to shove the cola right in the AFL'S face and fart on it!"
"Just sucks to lose this game to a soulless team like the Cola Swans who stand for nothing but trying to hold onto their bull@@@@ concessions".
"Legally ******ed lance says he loves playing on the g. that's where the fans are. that's why i left to play somewhere they follow a sport for the trash of society."
"Like 2012 GF Sydney didn't win it we LOST it by @@@@ kicking."
          Etc, etc, etc........

LOL. I've learned that Hawks suck cawks.

While Hawthorn are the worst overall, that's pretty much a reflection of every supporter base down here. Eddie's frequent rants and the trade ban have led to this.

And so many felt for us, until we started to win regularly, and become a force of the AFL.

Ta, first time that I've heard that rumour, but of course, the Gold Coast is hardly a hot bed of AFL gossip. Obviously it's a rumour that's ridiculous to the point of paranoia. I mean, why on earth would off season drug testing, suddenly become an issue just before the finals?

Thanks for that I will have a look tonight. It could have been a punch to the throat, the traffic was very noisy at the time.

After reading some of the previous posts I have a general question to the Melbourne/Victorian based supporters - who are the worst and most vile of the opposition supporters? I appreciate the passion that supporters have for their teams but surely there must be a certain amount of civility and downright decency or I am too naive in the understanding of the supporters there?

In my instances of going to games in Melbourne, the Hawks fans are unbearable at the moment. I always enjoy games against Richmond, although we usually play poorly against them, as generally they seem to have a decent (and now long suffering) fan base.

Bombers and Pies fans don't rate too highly in my book either.

The Hawks fans have been insufferable ever since we beat them in 2012. They really hate us. Their behaviour in the 2014 GF was actually scary. They were/are full of venom.

The next worst is probably Essendon. I will never forget that Etihad game in 2014...they were feral and even cheered when the umpire was knocked out and booed him when he was carried off the ground.

Then I would say North Melbourne are pretty bad. They were the first ones to start the Goodes booing all those years ago. Last year a fight broke out in the bay next to me. It was a really uncomfortable and tense atmosphere the whole game.

Carlton supporters I wouldn't call feral...they just like to whinge and whinge and whinge.

Much like GWS now. Its ok if you're losing but just don't start looking like top 4 material or you'll get blasted.

Hawthorn. Comfortably. Clearly they've got plenty of decent supporters as well but they're collectively the worst bunch. The good probably outweigh the bad, it's just that the bad are so bad. I first noticed it in the 2001 EF at Etihad (probably Colonial back then).

You could raffle the rest of them. All clubs have good and bad supporters.

Docklands. Always Docklands. Don't buy into the naming rights crap. Kardinia Park, Carrara, Subiaco Oval, That Strange Little Orange Ground, Manuka. WE will call them what WE want. We will not be dictated to by corporate interests.
