We're sitting somewhere in the Brewongle stand. I'll know exactly where when I pick up my ticket on Wednesday.
I'm normally the ticket buyer for our group. This year, my friends are on their own.
the chances of missing out are far, far too high for my liking.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Had my doubts on Newman, but after watching him in yesterday's Grand Final, he definitely has a touch of class. During the pressure of the last quarter, danced around 3 GWS players and put in on a swans chest in the GF50 and then his snap for goal in the last quarter was something special. Though not sure if your first game should be a brutal Finals match. Might destroy his confidence.Comment

Given the quality of the GWS players Newman was up against, (there are probably more first round draft picks than the Crows senior team), the step up to a senior finals match might not be that hard.

As much as our handling was deplorable on Saturday, our tackling was worse. We just didn't seem to be able to make them stick and if Towers comes in, that isn't going to improve.Comment

Good to see nothing has changed here on RWO. As if changing, unforced, one or two players will make a big enough difference. McGlynn in or out of Saturday's side we still wouldn't have won.
A legitimate question: was our bottom six the problem on the weekend? It is often stated that it is your bottom six that decides these big games.
The team needs to be better but I am not sure what the change needs to be. Were we out-muscled like 2014? I don't think so.
We did seem to be beaten around the contest which is supposed to be our strong point. The defence held up as best they could and can't be knocked. The forwards did okay but delivery was pretty ordinary. It does come down to our much vaunted midfield which, hopefully, just had an off day and will be back next week with vengeance."Fortunately, this is the internet, so knowing nothing is no obstacle to having an opinion!." Still fuming Newman wasn't played during the year and will fume a whole lot more if we lose him to another team in trade period. Reckon just about every other team (other than the AFL Allstars GWS) has him on their trading radar.
Saw him live twice last year and looked a class above NEAFL standard with his movement and decision making. He has played even better this year, has a penetrating and accurate (maybe being accurate is his drawback?) kick. A huge error in not giving him a block of games to test him at senior level and now we're caught out with injuries at a critical stage of the year.Comment

We made a lot of mistakes (whether it be slipping over or kicking to opposition) in crucial places (eg their forward 50). I think that has a lot to do with their forward pressure.
Normally we find outlets from in close and then are able to spread it, but with the pace of the Giants they were able to put pressure on our players and force us to kick quickly. I hated the long kick into our forward 50 were there was just GWS players, but if they didn't do that, they would just get tackled with holding the ball. Not really sure what to do apart from try and apply similar pressure on their players. We are known for our two way running but that didn't feel like it was fully there on the weekend.
I don't think we necessarily need more speed for Adelaide so my ins would be:
Out: mills, Tippett
In: laidler, nankervisComment

Cunningham/Laidler for mills
Nankervis for Tippett
Towers for mcglynn
I said it a month ago, they should have given Laidler a game, cant expect the bloke to come in seemless after 10 weeks in the 2s otherwise he was a lock for Mills. Jones bloody unlucky
We can cover Mills this year and cunninham needs to be looked at considering his recent game time.
Would also consider Teddy so that Rampe can play up the ground a bit on Lynch. Rampes undersized against Tex and Jenkins
Id play Towers over Mcglynn, at least he will be there from the 1st bounce.
McGlynn is a 30+ vet playing with no confidence, the voices in his head are his own. Time to step aside, you have been given more than enough of a chance.
Towers just has one instruction - "Always kick long down the line, you are not to switch the ball or kick in the corridor"Comment

I'm a redback member. It pays to belong. I got my ticket through the club and not through Ticketek.
