    Winston Abraham (#22)
    Douglas Headland (#42)
    Ryan Smith (#56)
    Dean Grainger (#72)
    Sam McFarlane (#73)

White was decent, but not elite, but they would have had pick 1 anyway as the new team effectively finishing below the team who was last in the previous season. Dockers didn't make finals until 2003.
Abraham was going places until he broke his leg.

I recall the 22 defeat season. Felt bad for freo.

Freo to me have always been a team that should be playing in the AFL due to their heritage BUT the AFL just doesnt care for them at all. It was like "ok you've finally got a place. Rents 50 bucks a month there's the @@@@ty bar fridge, theres the single bed, do as you please BUT just dont wet the bed mkay thx bye"

We can actually thank Fremantle for Hawthorn's dominance. In 2001/02, they traded picks 1, 20 and 36 for Trent Croad and Luke McPharlin from the Hawks.

Hawks picked Hodge with the #1 pick, and Mitchell with the #36. Croad was awful at the Dockers and went back to the Hawks after two years for a #10 pick (which the Dockers blew again), and was part of their 2008 premiership!

Just checked he was round 23 2013 and played a few finals. Only precedent I can think of.
Though he was no rookie , IIRC Mitch Morton's first game for us was in R21, 2012 , when we belted the Doggies at Etihad.

There is a big question mark over Tippetts availability this weekend.

outs: Mills (injured), McGlynn (cooked), Tippett (injured)
          ins: Nankervis, Laidler, Brandon Jack

Adelaide have a big forward line with Walker, Jenkins and Lynch so we need to bring in a bigger defender. Laidler will bring in some hardness as well. Zac Jones got carried off on a stretcher in the NEAFL after a collision so I doubt he will be available. I like Towers for his athleticism but he cannot tackle so I'm suggesting BJ

No question marks over Tippo, they have already de lared he won't play.

However JPK I'm not so sure about....

              Crowd predictions: 35,000 to 40,000 ?
Ticket stuff ups, bad loss in first final and back to back finals in sydney will probably hit numbers a bit.

Too much of a risk to bring in Brandon Jack. Gets a lot of the ball but his delivery is very ordinary. Very rarely ends up in a Swans players hands.

                  So he'd fit right in?

Has JPK ever been concussed before? I imagine he will play but true question will be whether he plays to his 30+ standard that we have come to expect.

                    I have a few questions:
Nick smith - is he still one of the best small defenders out there? I certainly don't feel like he has dominated as much this year, but maybe it has been more to do with our team defence and less 1 on 1. I am really quite worried about the Eddie proposition. Please swans, support each other back there!
Tom Mitchell - i feel like it's been so long since he has stood out. Surely it's about time he bobbed up to kick a goal or two. He has to be our tagger for Rory Sloane, doesn't he?

Sloane is a beast (would love him to be playing for the swans!). If we shut him down, our midfield should have enough to beat theirs. That's where it will be won or lost, because if the ball gets down to adelaides forward line easily, all we can hope for is poor conversion because they have quite a few varying weapons there to defend against

Good point. I'm just wondering who we bring in for McGlynn. We need someone who can put pressure on the Crows.

McGlynn has to play. We need a scapegoat. And it will make it a lot easier when it comes time to tell him that will be delisred.

Thinking about this, unsociable teams like GWS & the Hawks are who we need the McGlynn agro for (although it'd be better if it came with a bit more skill).

Will you be there Barry or are you just preparing your excuses in advance?

If I was running the joint (scary thought) he'd be on the chopping block come end of the season. I just don't think he will make it for the reasons you outline.
