Towers was good today. He promises so much of what we need. I'm hopeful he can deliver more of this against stronger sides too.
I'm really looking forward to Rampe's return too. (When is he back?)
Towers has the potential to be the relief ruckman and I don't think he did his chances next week any harm today. Not really his preferred spot but it may be where his future lays if he has one with us

He sure will ... if Tippett trips over his own feet concussing himself and tearing his hammy as crumples to the floor (which probably isn't inconceivable) but if Tip's fit, Cal will get to ply his trade in the NEAFL a little longer.
Heeney was a beast, Zak Jones had a breakout game. Towers has a future as a mid. Parker kept it simple. Marsh was good. Melican looks like he belongs and Buddy wasn't bad either.
And there's still Tippo, Rampe and KJack to return
One positive from the Carlton game that I forgot to mention, was Parker's incredible goal. It may have had a bit of fluke about it, but it was still pretty to watch.
Yes, though it was a bit of a shame that Hawthorn won, to lift themselves off the bottom, too.
It was their part of a round of upsets. Even though we started favourites against Brisbane, this round had something that has not happened before. All nine teams that won were lower on the ladder than their opponents at the start of the round. We haven't even seen eight lower-placed teams win before, let alone nine.

Yes, long odds and it probably won't happen again for a while. Of course there's a fair bit of guesswork in working out the odds, but if you assigned each game an even money chance, it would be odds of 1/512. If you went for the probably more realistic assumption, that the odds of a lower placed team, beating a higher placed team, averaged out at about one in three, then for nine games, that works out as 1/19,683.
And it's probably true, that the longer a season goes on, there's less chance of it occurring?
I think Gerard said on AFL 360 that the multi for the 9 games was around 3,400/1
I usually have a shot at it for $10 but forgot , would have gone for Tigers tho....
We have the 10th best percentage.
Our average winning margin is 48 points.
We have a two-game winning streak.
We are only three games outside the top eight with 14 games to play.
