My thoughts are similar to liz's. The Eagles are a notoriously poor away team and haven't beaten us at the SCG since 1999. Essendon's pace have the potential to worry us and their 7 consecutive goals against us earlier this year from the latter parts of the 3rd quarter to the middle of the 4th quarter were as dominant as any side that has played us during our 14-2 run.

Also logistically in terms of officials, technicians etc I don't think the AFL and/or TV stations have the numbers to cover 9 matches simultaneously.
      Yes, you're probably right.

They don't have to play all nine games at once, only the ones impacting finals. This year 4 would do.

Yes, but they'd have to leave the final round scheduling a lot later than they do now.

The AFL can schedule finals week by week, I think they can do a h&a round.
There is always a lot of artificial hurdles put up by the AFL. Wasn't so long ago the AFL couldn't get out of playing all finals at the MCG.

The only game that didn't have any finals impact this weekend was the Lions v Kangaroos game

And let's hope WC's josh Kennedy doesn't get 6 goals in this second half!!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

True, but bulldogs v hawks was such a long shot, it can stay stand alone.
Out of the rest, only 2 in Melbourne, so enough grounds available for up to 7 games together.

By not so long ago, you're talking over a decade. Ok, relative to the 120 year history of the VFL/AFL it's not that long ago, but it was 2005 when the contract was re-negotiated. That's a dozen years. Please get over it within the next decade.

Eagles need 2 more points to jump to 7th.

If the Eagles make finals, is Nic Nat a sneaky chance for a comeback?

It would take Buddy like skills to make it to 6 goals (crosses fingers)

I have my fingers and toes crossed, so long as Kennedy doesn't start getting on the end of them. If we want to be generous we can allow him to kick four, so that he and Buddy share the Coleman (though on a behind countback, Buddy easily has him covered).

It's going to get to a point where the Crows will stop caring, if, indeed, that's not already arrived. Good thing is that Hartigan needs to keep playing well if he's to be a chance of retaining his spot when Talia returns.

What would be REALLY funny ... West Coast end up in 7th, then realise they must play the in-form team of the competition at a ground where they haven't won since 1999.

I wonder if they are going to play the last quarter to keep out of 7th?
