I'm of the thinking finals are there as a means to a flag. Nothing more.
I'd rather be one-hit wonders like the dogs than perennial final failures like say Adelaide post 2000.

This topic has come up before and I have reflected on it. I'm not in the 'only flags count' camp like you. I take enormous pride and joy in being a consistently successful club. As a fan living my life this counts for lots. In 50 years looking back of course only the flags get remembered but that's not my day to day reality. I would not want to pop out of obscurity and pluck a flag every once in a while and then return to obscurity until the next time around.

Anyway, I'm very happy with our record post 2000. If we could reverse the result of just one game (2014 GF) it would be the best record of any club.

Oh my goodness... I just L.O.V.E rubbing our finals record for the past twenty years in other people's faces.
Richmond supporters - Fweo supporters - Collywobbles... everyone!!
We may not have made the granny, but at least we made the finals.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Maybe it's one of the Under 19s Academy guys?
I think we should call for an inquiry to get to the bottom of this.

After experiencing the deadness of a bye weekend , makes you realise how lucky we are to participate in finals nearly every year. Give me that over years of bottom eight finishes any time.

I think the key metric for "finals choker" is finishing earlier than the ladder position would predict. eg a 7th or 8th position would predict elimination 1st week, 5th or 6th second week etc. Not perfect I grant you but worth a thought

Molly Meldrum was just on the news all decked out in Richmond gear. Never thought I'd see him batting for the other team

He lives in Richmond so he probably has a soft spot for them.

If you don't have an AM radio for the ABC (who does these days), you don't get any radio commentary during the game.
Most annoying as I like to listen to the radio during the game.

When I went looking for a digital radio awhile back I was told that there is a time lag when watching live sport so for me next to useless. Maybe the NRL people leaned on MMM Sydney to have their games broadcast to try and boost flagging interest. Just flipping annoying!!!
Same! I tweeted at them a few weeks back but no reply. I don't understand why they've messed with it. My personal phone is a blackberry (yes, you heard correctly, my personalphone is a blackberry) and a big advantage of that is an FM analogue radio. Now it's useless

We need to sort this situation out.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Awful isn't it. Every year I watch EJ Whitten, then think "that was dreadful TV and I only watched because there was no real footy." Unfortunately the ladies game was not great spectacle either.

Not a fan of this bye, be interesting to see if they go with it again next year.

Apparently Gil the Dill said recently that they have no intentions of getting rid of it any time soon......no doubt it's been handy for us this year with a few niggles and not being in the top four but I'm in the 'get rid of it' camp also. It diminishes the integrity of the finals series.....
