According to Daniel Menzel wiki page he has played for Geelong from 2010-2018 73 games 136 goals.
Sydney 2019- 0 0.
Do they know something that we don't.
Interestingly he has a better goal rate than Nick Davis who couldn't tackle either but is a premiership player.

Presumptuous of them. Kind of annoying that there’s been no news on the Menzel front, I thought the medical was supposed to happen last week ?

There's also a DFA signing period after the National Draft. It might be that the Swans decide to wait until after the draft, and if they are the only potential suitor Menzel has, there is little risk.

One possibility (not likelihood, but merely possibility) is that if they get wind that an earlier than expected bid on Blakey could happen they decide to trade down some of those picks for lower ones that have higher points value (in total). If so, having an extra list spot available when they go into the draft might be an advantage.
