Again we are being accused of rotting the draft by Melb "experts". Its not what the system was designed for!!! Well, even the AFL had to give it a tick so stick it where the sun doesn't shine!!! Whenever we do the unexpected or what another Melb team wouldn't do, we are cheats. Well, all the teams worked the draft the way they wanted, no one was forced to do anything outside their comfort zone. I say Bravo to our recruiting gururs, they really earned our respect and the dollars they earnComment

When it did happen the Draft commentators weren't at all surprised as they'd already seen this strategy used before.
The AFL ticked this strategy off with the Swans BEFORE the draft. It will become common practice, just like the outrage when we signed Buddy on long term contract & now clubs have adopted the same to attract/retain star players.
The question these whinging media people should ask is why the bid for Blakey didn't come till pick 10? The bid for Tarryn Thomas even came before Blakey at pick 8.Last edited by KSAS; 24 November 2018, 12:27 PM.Comment

Apologies if the above link has been posted already but I had a quick look and didn't see it in the thread. Shows a video of some of McInerney's highlights this year which is useful as there doesn't seem to be much vision of him. I particularly like his long penetrating kicks that find a target (esp see @ 1:05 hitting a target in the corridor). Looks promising but obviously we'll have to see how he goes!Comment

I hope so too. Sick and tired of yelling out 'shepherd you lazy bastard' as our players leave the ball carrier exposed and hang back looking for a HB. Again and again and again, getting repetitive? So's the lack of shepherding. Players standing back yelling 'Give it to me, give it to me.'
And players calling for a handpass when they have an opposition player right beside them *rolseyes*The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

So does anyone know who McInerney is in those highlights? Me a bit stupid

“Someone that can break lines, break through zones and take the game on,” Knights talent manager Rhy Gieschen said.
“His kicking is really low, hard and penetrating, so he can get the ball from point a to point b really quickly.”
Two words Isaac Smith ????"I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment

He looks the goods on the basis of that package. Clean hands, courage going back to take marks, and a good kick. Bit of nip out of the middle too, and picking up a lot of ball in different parts of the park, which suggests a good motor, getting to good places.Comment

Nope. Wrong video. Number 4 is Tom McKenzie. It’s the first video for McInerney. He is number 30.

Im 44yrs old
I did my ACL skiing 2017
I was slow jogging after 9 weeks from operation
16 weeks sprinting
But I wouldn’t have played footy or similar sport until minimum 30 weeks post op as the straight line running is strong but the 360 degree is not and minimal full flexibility till 25 to 30 weeks"be tough, only when it gets tough"
