I think our injury list is a lot smaller than the Giants' at the moment, so it's probably to be expected that we would prevail.
Outrageous! He should be sanctioned for giving away club secrets.

Don?t worry I don?t think many people listen to those half time interviews. Well except for Liz it seems.

At least we go into the NEAFL season proper full of confidence having beaten them twice in NEAFL practice games not to mention the inter-club game at Henson Park and JLT game at Blacktown which would have involved NEAFL players on both sides.

Sadly not. They've already promised the CEO job to Tom Harley.

AFL website has it's regular "Who played well in the twos" column up now. Scrolled down and noted GWS had a report in, scrolled down further to Swans - nothing. I'll say it again, the club needs to do better, RWO needs to be abreast of what's happening!

I dropped a note on the Swans FB site as follows - Why is there no info whatsoever about the rest of the players in the Swans squad (not in game day 22) who are training and in fact in practise matches (2 that we heard on the grapewine, not Swans info), its like these players don't exist. The NEAFL starts next weekend and has our fringe players, young draft picks and squad players. The silence from the Swans is deafening is atrocious. Not even the Coaching team for the NEAFL squad have any news on their players!!! Practise games are important to keep Swans supporters up to date as well as give those players some profile and encouragement. Also updates on players coming back from injury such as Dawson and Ling for whom there is nil no info about for months. Please, whoever has responsibility for website or FB site, please pull your finger out. Read the Red and White website for more criticism for non interest from Swans and that many are going to contact Andrew Ireland to complain about the indifference by those who have the responsibility at the Swans, even after all the new appointments. Cheers

I took a count of the GWS employee number and they have 104 compared to our 103. So it must be that extra person who manages to get out and report on the reserves. They can really splurge with those AFL HQ handouts.

So here's the report from the Saturday reserves match between GWS and the Swans: Griffen Returns for GIANTS in NEAFL Practice Match - GWSGIANTS.com.au

They were very inconsiderate not to mention any Swans' players, except for ex-player and GWS NEAFL coach Adam Schneider.

I can summarize the game as follows: We won.

Some extra bits of interesting journalism from the article, and may help to explain why Gary Rohan looked a bit off the following day in the Port Adelaide game. Here's the headline pic and caption.

Ryan Griffen returned to playing in a NEAFL practice match on Saturday at Tom Wills Oval, playing half of the game against the Swans Reserves.

Wait what, Rohan played 2 days in a row? Surely even if it was reduced minutes it kinda defeats the purpose of him playing in the first place?

Giants' match report, but at least we get a score!

The game was evenly poised at half time before the Swans blew the game wide open in the third term, kicking six unanswered goals.

The fast-finishing GIANTS couldn?t get over the line with the final four goals of the game, losing 8.9 (57) to the Swans? 13.10 (88) at Tom Wills Oval on Saturday.

I've been having issues with sound on computer lately, so I'm not sure if it's related to those issues but does anyone else also hear funny sounds instead of real audio coming from this NEAFL Update video ?

Edit: it's my browser. Just tried a different one and it was fine.

I played the video on my Retrobrowser and saw Jeremy Laidler and Abe Davis training in the background. Looking forward to some spectacular highlight reels from the NEAFL this year.

These special effects are really great, but with 8 employees in the Swans' media department, we should be expecting a high quality product.

I also noticed that there's background music playing during the injury update now, and coincidentally, it's the same music my neighbour uses to hypnotise his dog.

Has there been any report on Sam Naismith? What was the outcome of his surgery? Or has he already been deported?

I suggest that we break up the injury report into 2 segments, the first being on recent injuries and returns and the 2nd on longer term injuries. We can play Sweet Caroline during the intermission.

Nice work Ludwig BUT do we yet have anything on the practice match other than that provided by the orange people?

Some real information courtesy of GWS below. Tom McCartin played.

                            Sam Taylor

?Sammy had the job of matching up on Tom McCartin and he did a really good job. He?s showing some great football smarts and competitiveness.?

That would be this weeks games I assume and not the practice game?

Good article up on the Swans website about this weeks game. All 7 of the new draftees will be playing - nice :-)
