Add to that the losses of players like Nankervous it really gods my gears that we've lost more talent than weve gained.
S.S. You’re hardly Nostradamus in that one. At the time pretty much everyone on RWO (except Matt80) wanted him to stay. The Swans wanted him to stay, but their offer was simply too low (and because of the reasons I listed, they couldn’t afford anything more). Parker & Hanners re-signed based on excellent form at the time.
All of which are moot points. Tom’s gone. We’re stuck with the others. Unless we can trade out Hanners. Or if we can get Tom back (ala Rantall, Hawke, Capper). But for the moment we play the hand we’re dealt.

Stevic ensured the free kick count was 24-14 but he need not have bothered. Would not have beaten Gold Coast the way they played today.

Yeah, that’s how I saw it. Not sure what it looked like on Fox, but on Ch7 he looked surprised. Tom McCartin gave him a bit of an acknowleding hug.

How annoying was it keep seeing that GWS banner "Sydney Created not Relocated". More like Sydney Manufactured!

As for Mitchell, the players player of the year wouldn't improve the Swans even if he is slow? Your kidding!

Buddy is the best player in the game but he makes our side so predictable that if he doesn't fire we don't win, it's still a team game which means you need more than just Buddy. The fact that Clarkson was able to win without him says every thing.

He is great to watch, great theater, great for attendances, and will win a number of matches off his own boot. But when you have no other class around him its not enough to win a premiership.

Going for Tippett and then Buddy has ruined our salary cap and caused us to lose too much mid tier strength. In the end the 10 year offer was a step too far, we of course, should have made an offer if the Hawks matched it so be bit. I think we could have got him for less since he wanted to be with his Mrs.
Hindsight, a wonderful thing. Hitler wished he had it, wouldn't have invaded Poland in 1939 if he knew France and England were going to declare war!

Get a grip, at the time we recruited those two we were incredulous we could do it.

Yes, pick 10 out to pick 11 with the Lynch compo at pick 3. We are in the second batch of 6 for next years fixture, I think only one double up against top 6 which will be GWS, most other double ups against Geelong, Port, Crows, Essendon, Norf.

You undersell him. His first half season for us was outstanding, and so was his first half of 2016. Outside that he was basically buggered by injury. He could really play, and showed it when his body allowed. The decision to recruit him was right but the stars did not align.

Yep in hindsight it has not worked, but at the time seemed perfectly reasonable and a good move. In that sense, you win some and you lsoe some.

Yet without us they'd still be a figment in nobody's imagination.... that banner really bugs me - but I guess that is the point.

Will always be a plastic club for mine, but in time they will forge a history for their own. But I'd like to hope they won't get a flag out of their inaugural AFL granted group.

Bit harsh..... I thought it was just an embarrassed grin (as the ball had just basically fallen out the back to him for an easy goal).....rather than 'yey, we're in it!'
