Did Wicks get a two year contract? Reynolds has already extended a year. Pink has to be promoted, Delisted or traded while only one of Amartey and Bell can be left on the rookie list unless the rules are again changed.

Looking down the track a bit, but sadly not as far as I’d like. One player I’m concerned about replacing is Rampe. He’s like a top end Swiss Army knife in our defence.Comment

Can we please stop mentioning Papley as a re-signing worry which all came about because of some cheap rumour floated down south. Has anyone been more red and white than Papley? Yesterday he looked like a player thinking of asking for a trade - NOT!
Jones and Dawson are key re-signings but after wins like yesterday and the Swans very bright future, you'd expect it would take a big offer for them to consider jumping ship.
Everyone relax, three junior contract extensions posted Friday means we are slowly working through the unsigned list
And basically to be blunt, I think Dawson will be a far better player long term.

Beams is out for three months with his injury, so Sier might get an extended run. Not good for us picking him up as a fringe player!Comment

I agree with this, we should go for him hard. He's playing today for the Pies. Will be interesting to see how he goes. He's in for Beams, who will be out for awhile, so he has a few games to prove himself....probably enough time to prove himself to be a 'required player'.....Comment

Leo Barry... Craig Bolton... Dane Rampe
All AA too!The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

One of the positions we need to consider recruiting this upcoming offseason is KPD. We have Aliir and Melican but not a lot of depth behind them and Melican has not 100% bedded down his position and shown he can be consistently A grade. There is some talk that Alex Keath could be gettable, with the Dees said to be interested in him. Especially if that is true, but anyway, should we consider Tom McDonald? He will turn 27 later this year but is a proven commodity in defence that could replace Grundy and allow Aliir and Rampe to focus on intercepting and rebounding more. If not Tom McDonald, anyone else?
There is talk the Crows may also chase to Brodie Grundy. I am happy to let him go because according to the panel on Access All Areas today he would cost a motza both in terms of $$ and picks. Even though he has in my view overtaken Max Gawn as the best ruck in the game this year and is absolutely a wonderful player, I still think it is an overinvestment in a ruckman. All opinions are not equal. So the bye is upon us, time to look at the whole of list changes for end of season. We are running 38 on the main list (likely to stay that way) with 6 Cat A rookies. We currently have six ND picks 5, 24, 41, 51, 55, 59. We may not take them all to the draft but could package some up to get upgrades as some teams who need extra useful picks to what they currently hold could do say a late 30s pick for our three 50s picks. The list is broken into -
“Locks” for players who are certainties to be on the 2020 roster and I'm including players rumoured (and we know 90% of rumours don't go anywhere) as possibly requesting a trade as no point speculating on them, they're required. Also includes players who hold a contract for 2020
“GoLOners” for players retired/retiring/unlikely to be recontracted
“?” for players who could be re-signed or delisted or traded for peanuts
Rookies where ressie watchers can suggest their future prospects. There are some rules about how many rookies you can have for a third year
LOCKS – 27 players
Aliir
Blakey
Cunningham
Dawson
Florent
Foot
Franklin
Hayward
Heeney
Hewett
Jones
Kennedy
Ling
Lloyd
McCartin
McInerney
Melican
Mills
Naismith
O'Riordan
Papley
Parker
Rampe
Reid
Rowbottom
Sinclair
Stoddart
GONERS – 3 players
Grundy retired
Jack (is cooked)
McVeigh (fragile, time to go)
??? - 8 players
Cameron (after three years little improvement)
Clarke (2020 contract? Playing himself into a lock)
Fox (after three years still a bits player if we have lot of injuries)
Maibaum (terribly timed ACL, shows promise, needed KPD)
Menzel (needs to prove his worth to get a contract)
Rose (his time is now! Jury out)
Smith (32 next year, injuries/recovery to dictate)
