      He won't be going anywhere.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Is adelaides out of contract jake kelly or Hugh greenwood on anyone’s radar as players we need for our backline or midfield rotation ?

Is is just me or does chatting with Daniher 12 months ahead of time sound somewhat similar to what happened with Buddy?

The other "is it just me" I'd ask other here about is the assertion that "The Swans know they need to have a drawcard of some kind to keep people coming through the door at the SCG" - is the Swans hold on it's audience still really so tenuous?

Jake Kelly has re-signed with the Crows in the last day or so. Greenwood is apparently seeking a FIVE year contract with a club. At age 27 or 28. Good luck with that one. He's a decent player but not a star. That sounds highly optimistic.

So pick 4 = approx picks 17 and 18 combined or 16 and 19 combined etc
Only equals it in points, no club gives up pick 4 for two late teens picks.

I know they bid on Blakey and we bid on someone the year bwfore i think but i doubt we will bid on him at 4.
We need to be somewhat nice for next years 2 academy picks
If you are going to pick someone at 4 you don't make out like you wanted someone else first
                  My bolding in the quote.

You do, plenty of examples, last year Crows bid on North's Tarryn Thomas with pick 8. 2014 draft Melbourne bid on Heeney at pick 2, we matched they then took Petracca. 2015 draft Melbourne bid on Mills at pick 3, we matched and they took Oliver with pick 4. 2018 draft GWS bid on Blakey at pick 10, we matched, they took Jye Caldwell pick 11.

2016 draft we bid on GWS Isaac Cumming at pick 20, they matched we took Hayward.

Green is just the type of player we need, reckon the AFL article may not be far from the mark, Crows or us to make GWS pay.

Greenwood turns 28 next year but doesn't have a lot of footy miles on the clock being from a basketball background. Five years very ambitious but reckon Gold Coast may entertain three or even four, the kind of grunt they need.

Betts is 100% certain to leave. He is p155ed and wants out and the Crows will be happy to get rid of him. If it's not Carlton it will be someone like Gold Coast.

None of those examples were from a team expecting to land 2x potentially 1st round picks the next year

Just read a story about Jake Carlisle. Interesting that he was traded for pick 5 in the same draft that we picked up Callum Mills for pick 3. Now I have questioned Mills's progress this year, on this esteemed forum no less. Reading this, puts it into perspective.
We did bloody well getting Mills, especially considering he was academy and we were able to bundle a whole heap of lower picks to draft him.

I'm with Sprite. Great analysis, well worth reading. Interesting thoughts about trading. Thanks Aaron!

Worth extracting some of the part about Papley:

"it was revealed that Papley had hit a trigger in his contract this year which automatically extended him from the end of 2020 to the end of 2023.

This means the Swans can hold him to his deal for multiple years if they wish to, and, being happy at the club, it’s believed Papley would not object to that happening if there isn’t a team who can satisfy Sydney in a trade."
All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

Mills is also the only Swan in the AFLPA's under 22 team, perhaps we should enjoy him as he is, rather than wanting/wishing he is JPK II
