So am I. That’s not a deal, that’s grand larceny.

This is just a recycled version of the previous reports on SEN. Starting to think someone needs to either come out and say he is staying or we are working on getting a resolution that suits all parties

Does Sam Edmund usually write for women's weekly gossip columns or does he usuly work as an AFL reporter?

Basically says he's unhappy in Sydney, his living conditions, has no friends, and just about everything and is desperate to get to Melbourne.

So much so that he triggered a 3 year extension on his contract to stay in Sydney? What??

Nonetheless, on balance, sounds like he's going.
Article appears to be written by a PR hack from Carlton. As in, Carlton really aren't offering big bucks to lure away a contracted player. No, they're just kindheartedly coming to the aid of a deeply unhappy country boy, who can't adapt the evils of city life, and will be much happier away from the big smoke...err...in Melbourne.

Very unfortunate that Durack has been delisted after one year on rookie list. Had a massive upside from his last colts season but was cut down with serious injury. But the gurus knew that when they signed him beginning of 19 season. Obviously his injury is too serious and so delisted.

This whole article looks like someone from Papley's inner circle just adding a heap of mayo on the "Papley is homesick" story. He may very well be homesick, and that's fine - but a lot just doesn't add up in this story.

                    1. If he felt so "isolated" in Sydney, then why is he in Europe with Hayward, Ronke, Mills, Clarke etc. ? And surely he would be able to find his own place to live by now, if he is unhappy with his current living arrangement.

                    2. How exactly is he going to "escape the busy Sydney lifestyle" by coming to Melbourne, an even busier city?

                    3. And lastly, if he is happy to go to any Melbourne club, then why did his dad come out on Twitter to vehemently deny Papley wants to go to North Melbourne?

No surprise with Rose. Very good at NEAFL level, couldn't really step up to AFL level. I suspect that he'll go back to S.A. and star in the SANFL.
Shame that Tucker couldn’t get on the field, from a couple of early interviews, he did seem very likeable.

Rose was done with a month to go in the season so no big surprise there.

Gut says Papley will stay despite all the noise. Nothing from the player or club, still smells of a manager trying to up the ante on his contract to me.

Papley may stay and I hope he does both because we need him and because I hope the club doesn’t bow to the quasi blackmail which seems to be coming from Papley sources.

But Tom is burning a lot of Swans goodwill through this saga. He was a very much loved Swans player before this.

Why do these tossers want us to overpay so badly for a broken JD, and get unders for a contracted Paps?

You have to be smart to concoct elaborate conspiracies. The average IQ of our sports journalists just nudges triple figures, and that's only because the average is dragged up by people like Caro and Jake Niall. I think they just like making up stories.

Here is a bit more evidence of loneliness from the Tom and Will show:

Some lines from above article dated 26 June 2019 (doesn't seem like Tom is in desperation to go back to Melbourne):
The pair have been inseparable since Hayward was drafted as a "very, very skinny kid from Adelaide" in 2016, a year after Papley cut short his plumbing apprenticeship in Victoria to join the Swans.

"Sometimes you just click with someone. We've got a lot of things in common," Papley said.

"When it's time to be serious we can switch on but we do like to muck around a bit.

Those youngish journos from Melbourne are a bunch of clowns. How can someone living in Chiang Rai, Thailand, figure out what's going on when those Melbourne nitwits will believe anything they hear or just make up stuff to try to get a jump on the others. They'll write anything, so long as it doesn't involve them doing any research or real work.

Just another example of lazy journalism, this is the first line from the SEN article on the recent delistings:

Jordan Rose and Durak Tucker have been delisted by Sydney.

Point 2 brought on a big LOL. Paps is going to swap the "busy Sydney lifestyle" for the Melbourne goldfish bowl? Pull the other one.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
