This is illogical, as it suggests the Swans would be obliged to accept any demands.

Did he say the same about Tim Kelly and West Coast last year?

Trade Radio this morning still arguing that the Swans will have to give up a player like Florent or McCartin in addition to the draft picks to get the deal done. I really hope that the Swans stay firm but my gut tells me they will relent at the 11th hour.

Do the bombers want a player in addition to 5 and 9? If so, and if we gave 5,9 and McCartain to them, how would most feel?

Speaking personally, I would be very angry and disappointed.

Or if we gave them Florent too. I hope they don't trott out the line about his family. It would be so disrespectful to the memory of his late father.

Apparently we offered 5 and 25 over the weekend. Not surprisingly, this was flatly rejected by Dodo. There was no specific mention of 9 in the discussion this morning but I suspect that the deal to get it done would be 5, 9 and a player like McCartin. Like everybody else here I think that is Overs. So it comes down to how desperate we are to get Daniher in the door.

It’s a win win for JD I think

If the bombers are unreasonable and refuse to trade then JD probably gets presented with a very nice 3/4 year contract ASAP from Essendon Much sooner then expected and at a time when he is injured

This probably would have been pushed out by the bombers due to injury but now becomes part of the trade negotiation and an impetus for the bombers to promise more

If they do trade then JD gets what he wants and so do the swans

I don’t think Essendon win at all from the nomination to trade

JD would know that we are not going to trade 5&9

Way overs, so far over it's laughable. We're not talking Buddy in his prime, we're talking about an injured player who has had ONE good season, the rest of his time, when not injured, have been average on the stats. Plus this is a player we don't need, what are we thinking?

5 & 25 is overs on what Daniher has produced so far, 5 & 9 is way overs that we'll be thought of as a soft touch in future. To suggest a player is lunacy. I'm hoping all this is just Vic centric media wank.

I know of very few supporters who want Daniher here, let alone paying overs for him. Happy to revisit next year if he still wants to come and he is still seen as a need.

I'd much rather go to the draft with 5, 9, 25, 28 and target four mids, hopefully we find at least two very good mids with those picks.

We owe them nothing. Nil. Nada. Zilch.
I want to go to the Maldives for a month, but the Maldives don't owe me jack.
Overwhelming sense of entitlement this kid has... dare I say it... DICKHEAD.
He offers no loyalty whatsoever. What if he misses mummy and wants to go home one year into a four-year contract (Anthony Rocca)? Does he think that his next football club will just roll over like Essenscum?
They want to get rid of him because he's, obviously, injury prone.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

If we are so desperate for a KPF who can ruck, why don't we come in with a late 20s / 30s pick for Patton and an undertaking not to bid on Green?

Patton is fit, could've played out the end of last season and potentially a devastating FF. Hawks only offering pick in the 60s and GWS need the salary dump.

McCarthy's year off was 2016. He was listed with Freo in 2017.

All this "noise" that we're hearing from the Melbourne media regarding the trades of Daniher and Papley comes down to the fact that the Sydney Swans notoriously do not listen to the melbourne media or what is said by the Melbourne media. The constant talk and chatter about how much we should be paying or the "pressure" we're under to get the deals down to remove the logjam is what I put down to frustration on their part that they can't influence us like they can with the melbourne or western clubs.

I thought the problem with the general is that he's not very mobile though. Old school FF.

I could live with that as he's not going to cost the world. In many ways, he would compliment Buddy as he's a different style.

Patton is an interesting one. It's almost as if he took leave from the game for the second half of the season because his
head wasn't in the right place (ie depression). He's a pretty good player and most teams would be happy to see him running
out in their strip. There is an intriguing video on the GWS site of him talking at their B & F. He is quite emotional and implies he
might only be away from GWS for a couple years, then might come back to them after that. It's a slightly weird one.

He could be a statue at CHF and still be of value because opposition clubs would still need to put a tall defender on him.

Getting sick of hearing what Matthew Lloyd thinks! Articles on the AFL site and on SEN all refer to what Lloyd believes the trade should be, or what he thinks will get it done. So one sided and parochial it is sickening. I hope him pushing Essendon's barrow just makes the Swans more determined to get a fair outcome and not one which makes supporters of the drug cheats happy.

On a different note, have those who run the Swans website all gone on holidays? I know the list managers can't divulge all their secrets in their negotiations, but how about a quick interview with Gardner or Beatson each night to do a quick summary of where things are at?
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.
