Yes the last time we had a pick if any player in the top 10 was Gaz, a decade ago.

I like the look of Will Gould as a Rampe replacement, although he’ll probably fall between our 1st and 2nd picks. Would love us to combine 2 picks to move up and snag him.Comment

Don't think so. status of the following is still not clear: Cody Hirst ,Jack Maibaum;Daniel Menzel;Toby Pink and Sam WicksComment

Really? In the past 10 years, we've had, 5 top-10 picks. And 2 of those were top-5 players. That's despite playing in finals every year except 1 (2009), including 3 grand finals and winning one. That's a pretty good haul.
2018 pick 10 Nick Blakey
2015 pick 3 Callum Mills
2014 pick "18" (effectively about pick 3 or 4 if ) Isaac Heeney
2011 pick "21" (effectively about pick 10 or 11 IIRC) Tom Mitchell
2009 pick 6 Gary Rohan
We were actually discussing the 80s/90s.

I suspect it will be between Pink and Maibaum for one KPD position, especially if the intention is for McCartain and / or Reid to play more time in defence.
Wicks had a good year and I hope is offered a rookie spot.
Hirst is interesting. He has improved in his short time at the club. Good turn of speed, can sniff out a goal. Even looked like he bulked up a bit by season's end. Will this be enough, especially with Squizzy's signing? Is it possible he might get a spot before Wicks?Comment

I think the distinction with our more recent "top 10 picks" is that we didn't actually get to choose a player. We just got to take the one (in each year) that was available to us. Thus we didn't have a "top 10 selection" per se, because there was no active selection to be done.

Just read this in the paper (yesterday's story)...
"The list cull at Essendon has continued on Thursday with a further four players axed by the club, including former Fremantle ruckman Zac Clarke...."
Has this been bought up before? Apologies if it has.

I don't think we need anymore, and certainly not one who has shown he is not up to AFL standard in Zac ClarkeComment
