Another highlights package of Dylan Stephens. Compared to the package on the Swans website, this one concentrates a lot more on his work for Norwood. It contains some impressive moves.

Once he puts on a bit more bulk, one ex-player who he may increasingly resemble, is Nick Dal Santo.

      Trent Cotchin for me

Absolute appetite to break hard from the pack and give and go in that crouched over running style same as Cotchin

That would be very nice ????

        Love the footage of Stephens.

The thing that always strikes me about the highlights is how much space they have in the junior leagues. So it’s always unknown how the boys will go when they are in the middle of a swarm of senior afl players rather than having all that time and space. That’s the challenge

Thanks for sharing , that’s bloody impressive ! Highlights his pace, I knew he was quick but you really see him put the jets on in the clip quite a few times. Also his ball use is class, and the ability to nail his kicks running at full pace, particularly kicks at goal. That and the fact he can run all day too , we’ve got a good one on our hands here!

Yes, I'm also feeling increasingly optimistic. It's not just the footy skills. The interviews with both him and his parents, suggest that he's a really likeable guy, who'll be easy to coach and who should get along well with his teammates.

Just to clarify, he played for senior SANFL team Norwood, not a junior team. SANFL is the second best comp after AFL so Stephens has a step up on those coming from Victorian under 19 comp.

Oh yes. I know he played SANFL. Poor choice of words from me with the word junior. I meant there is still a significant jump from even the SANFL to AFL in terms of time and space. In the AFL The players have so little time and space. That’s the challenge

The stories around Gould slacking off and goofing around a bit remind me of Jack Darling leading into his draft year.

Out of school and apparently bored, he slid in the draft (calling Jed Lamb) as he liked a bit of a drink and wasn’t seen as professional as could be.

But once he got into the right environment at an AFL club, was good to go

I looked over the Swans website before posting to refresh my memory but I missed these when preparing my lists.

Simple solution ... give Gray #39.

An interesting read especially about the housing program and having their chef Courtney teaching the players how to cook. My dad met her today at Coles. She was very happy and surprised to meet a swans supporter down here. My dad said she was lovely.

The Swans just posted a pic on all social media platforms with a few of our youngsters meeting the new recruits at the airport. Interestingly, Hayden McClean has a moon boot on. Hope it's not too bad.

While Im not suggesting any of the choices were wrong, time will really be the measure of whether these were good choices.

Im sure every clubs fans are probably gushing over the possibilities of their new arrivals at the moment.

When you watch junior footy at state level , pretty much every kid is good and really its just small things that seperate the very best from the next line, so if I take a highlights package of the top dozen players from each state squad Im pretty sure I can make them all look a pretty attractive proposition.
