Quite like our backline rotation
Ramps
AA
Mills
Lloyd
Dawson
Brand
Cunningham
One more player of speed / give and go capacity would be handy also"be tough, only when it gets tough"

That's precisely the backline I picked over a month ago. If you want more speed then, at this stage, COR is your man, but who do you leave out?All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

I agree with you that COR should be in our starting 22, though I suspect in the coaches' minds he might be on the borderline.
I have no idea what they'll do with Mills, but I don't think the team can afford to have both Mills and Dawson as permanent defenders. We need one further up the ground. If we have three tall defenders (in Rampe, Brand and AA) available and in the team, I don't think we need the additional aerial cover that Mills and Dawson jointly provide.Comment

Can't agree with Cunningham being 'still fringe'. He seems to have been a late bloomer......before he got injured, he was definitely becoming best 22 and indeed improving.
I still see him as best 22.....plus we need his speed.Comment

Don't agree at all with this. Cunningham was leading our B&F last year before he was injured.
His run, speed and carry off half back/wing is the perfect replacement for Zack Jones.Comment

Mills is an elite defender. Big mistake to take him out of there. Last year we used Dawson as an old style utility player- back, wing and forward. No reason not to do that again.I agree with you that COR should be in our starting 22, though I suspect in the coaches' minds he might be on the borderline.

He was one of our best and most consistent before he went down last year. You’re saying 3 kids who’ve never played a game of AFL are ahead of him? That’s silly. Taking the Mick surely..
Also you may have him in the mid group but his best weapon apart from his pace is his versatility. Can play defensive forward ( shutdown some of the best attacking half backs in the game ) and as a small defender, a running half back etc as well as on the Wing.

I think you're spot on Blood Fever. Mills won't be moving from defence.
On the latest Conversations with Cal podcast, Cal was inferring that for a few games last year the coaches structured the team around Dawson. He plays wherever they think he's needed.Comment
