maybe in my 70 odd years I missed what a good player looks like, Gray and Taylor were a JUST for me. Can I get a job to teach Lloyd how to kick, pathetic again turns it over so much. Rampe is catching it too.

Hayward was reported for his high bump on Norf player in Q1. David King said Hayward will just cop a $2000 fine as Norf player played out game with no.concussion effects. Kingy kept on making point that it"s this sort of bump which should cop suspension regardless of injury/concussion outcome.

Also nice to see Taylor getting into it along with Gray and Brand. Definitely upgraded the list in the off season.

I would like to know what happened to Hewitt and also what happened to Blakey on the day.

Papley and Kennedy excellent, Harry pretty good. Hopefully the overall improvement can continue.

Yes, I thought it was a good second half by Stephens. Though I'd probably wouldn't have him in the round one team, but on the glimpses that he's shown, I think he'll earn a quick promotion from the NEAFL. Also liked Taylor this week, and Gray more last week. It will be interesting if we go with both in round one, or just have one of them assisting Papley. Can't really see Ronke playing: his ball handling is just not clean enough, these days. And it's strange that we haven't been able to get Blakey into the game yet. Though I'm not really sure how much game time he had today?

Both King and Brereton were talking it up. Didn't seem that bad to me. Without having seen a replay, I thought that Hayward was trying to avoid contact, by the time that contact was made.

Blakey had 79% TOG I was surprised to see. Seemed to get lost on the wing. Also didn't seem to run out the game well, fitness-wise. Perhaps he's better off forward still at this stage.

Stephens did - his best quarter was his last. I think he should play. Gives us useful zip.

I enjoyed watching the 2nd quarter! Not so much some sloppy football in the 3rd. Some poor decision making and careless play from the likes of Lloyd, and even Mills and Rampe. One worrying thing for me was the difficulty in sticking tackles. There was lots of tackling which was good but so many of our players are not strong enough to cause turnovers especially noticeable in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

I too thought Rowbottom was impressive and it was good see JPK playing well, and McCartin do a few good things. As well as Blakey, Dawson was strangely quiet and I didn't hear Parks being mentioned much. Sinkers was a bit of a worry too. Still it was an improvement on last week.

Yes, the reason why I wasn't sure about Blakey, was that at the end of the third quarter, I wondered whether he was injured, because I couldn't recall seeing him in that quarter. Odd that he's been very quiet, so far this season, as he's obviously has so much promise. Maybe it's just a quirk and next game he'll carve it up? Or maybe he needs someone experienced in the forward line, just to give him a few in-game pointers?

And speaking of whether someone was injured or not, I don't think Florent was on the ground much in the second half? At one stage he was getting a bit of work done on the sideline: though I doubt if it was anything serious? Hopefully he's good to go, because I thought he was one of our best in the first half.

Yes, it was a glass half full/glass half empty performance. The second quarter demonstrated that we can still play good football. While in the second half, our tackling and two way running dropped off a bit.

Greatly improved effort. Some of the desperate & dateless we picked up in last year's trade showing some promising signs. And some good signs on evolved game-plan too. Still a looong way to go to be competitive in 2020 but feeling a lot better than after last week's game!

Should get benefit of doubt - split second stuff. Not sure if he's a certain selection despite being historically favoured by the coach.

I've had Kennedy pegged for returning to his old self this season since the end of last season......after his form in the last few games was pretty much vintage JPK. I think he might have been carrying a niggle or two for the majority of last season. Fit and raring to go now.....

Not enjoying Dawson playing as a permanent defender. I’d like to seen him roaming mid/fwd delivering the ball inside 50 and kicking them from there too.

Kennedy looked strong in the first half.

Today demonstrated how dependent we are on a fit and firing JPK. He had a superb game. Let's hope he can produce that week in, week out.

Crap performance against a crap team. Crap coaching and dismal effort all round. Swans are third last in the betting. It will be a long season and, frankly, hard to see over the hill for any near future joy.
Half the team could not get a game for GWS reserves. Or Southport NEAF. No skill and no ticker. The bookies are right.
