Agree - The GWS Academy has produced more players, and other clubs have academies including those who are comfortably within AFL territory.
Furthermore, Blakey was eligible to be a F/S selection under AFL rules. Why is there never anything mentioned about how the Victorian clubs have such an endless well of F/S talent? GWS and GC don't have these yet. Fremantle, Port Adelaide and Adelaide have been around long enough to be just getting theirs. Brisbane, West Coast and Sydney have been around long enough, but Sydney would have more F/S players if the Victorian clubs weren't so busy poaching the Swans' best players for 20 years after relocating to Sydney.
