To my mind pick 3 should only be traded if something remarkable is on the table.
    I agree

And that is precisely how Mr. Beatson will treat it.

So pick 3 and 22 to Freo, for their pick 10 and 28 and Hogan - which equals around pick 18 before any changes to the draft order. Therefore probably 25 after father-son and NGAs factored in, and maybe another late pick swap to balance things a bit more our way.
I would love to negotiate with some of you on here!

If Hogan is worth a high second round pick, give them pick 22 for him. Don't burn pick 3. Ditto for Hayes.

Don't want Hogan. Has issues and besides he is a lazy footballer.

We probably wanted to use pick 3 on a tall forward, given our list profile, and we have Campbell and Gulden coming in as mids. But there is a risk the best tall forwards - JUH, McDonald and Tillthorpe - are gone before our pick. And Grainger Barrass is a defender.

So pick 3 and 22 to Freo, for their pick 10 and 28 and Hogan - which equals around pick 18 before any changes to the draft order. Therefore probably 25 after father-son and NGAs factored in, and maybe another late pick swap to balance things a bit more our way.

That gives us a key forward, plenty for Campbell and Gulden - and still another late pick or so, as well as no draft deficit next year.
Just to be clear, I wouldn’t go after Hogan myself.

I’m simply saying IF the club views him as capable of getting back to his best, how could they approach it.

And let’s remember, the club felt last year it was willing - even if Daniher initiated the conversation - to give up pick 9 and a future first for a broken down crock.

Again, not a deal I would have done but offers a benchmark on their potential thinking.

Maybe we have all of it. Pick 3, campbell, gulden and hogan for pick 22. Exchange some future 2nd for this years 2nd rounder and a future third for this years third

My insider at the Dockers says he is a bad egg... with little capacity to grow up. Hogan would be good from a footballing point of view. His salary is North of 600K, so if Sydney were to take a gamble on him, Freo would need to pay a fair amount. I'd rather we didn't take him. Prefer taking Paddy McCartin for a snippit of his salary. It is a no from me

I hate them as a club, so good riddance (whatever we think of AFL decisions around COLA etc).
                      Totally agree.

They really needed to move on from Leon Cameron, but instead re-signed him.

I’ve said it before but I’ll repeat it here. I think Aliir is overrated in this forum. He is like Mitch Marsh. Immensely talented but can’t hold his place a a specialist. He drops too many marks amongst his spectacular to be a reliable KPD. His kick also lacks penetration. He’s not tall enough to play as first choice ruck and he is a stop gap forward.

I really do wish I am wrong because I love his personality and athleticism but, for me, if he can be traded for a late 2nd/early 3rd that would be good.

With Aliir, my reluctance to let him go would be all his upside, as I agree he is a player without a position ATM.

The danger is another club figures out how and he plays to his potential.

SEN reporting we’ve enquired about Hogan!

GWS will no doubt force a trade, will not be taking just pick 10 compo for Cameron, need to fleece Cats of their pick 11 and one of the other firsts. Cats did set a high bar last year with their fleecing of WCE in the Kelly trade, that's the template GWS need to throw on the table at the start of negotiations.
The talk is two first round picks plus a promising young player. It would be a very fair deal. How are the Cats fitting all these players under their salary cap?

Yes but he is now 26 so is getting to the age where he may have actually reached his peak. Of course, I could be wrong and even if he was traded, I’d wish him nothing but the best and like Jetta, Hanners, and Rohan before him (but not Mitchell), I’d cheer him for any success.
