According to media releases from Freo FC and Jesse Hogan, he is going to GWS. I guess he is a cheap and unreliable replacement for Cameron. They're obviously confident that the going to reach an agreement with Geelong on trading Cameron. Might be a bit awky to have to accommodate Hogan if Cameron doesn't go! I hope it doesn't hamstring them in their negotiations for compensation for losing Cameron.

I'm hoping that Adelaide match Saints offer for Crouch, but doesn't matter nearly as much as the compensation pick not being pick 2, which was a big deal. All opinions are not equal. I don't think this has been discussed much, but I'm keen to understand why Daniher picked the Lions over us?
Last year he picked us, but now that's been pushed aside and he has picked the Lions. What happened?
Did we go cold or was it from JD's side? Was it money or playing more finals? Surely these were also factors last year?
This isn't a debate about whether he would have been worth getting or not (I'm in the pro Daniher camp) but more questioning what happened to have caused this change?Comment

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Plus he probably knew (perhaps Swans told him) that pick 3 was off the table if Dodoro wanted to play hardball and force a trade. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

Pick 3 is a chance to get a superstar. Doesn't come around very often. Take it with both hands. I think our academy players will slip down the list as they seem to more recent times. Blakey went at 10 when he was expected to be top 5. That said, maybe 10 was about right as he hasn't set the world on fire.Comment

Hickey looking like a nearly done thing? I retract my unfair potato comments of a few pages back. Think he will relish the number one ruck position if he can snare it and should come cheap in a trade.Comment

I don't think we heard anything new from Charlie G on trade radio.- He admitted that the Swans play their card close to the chest.
- He said our main trade target was to get a backup for Sinclair. I don't know if the wording was diplomatic, or we were really looking for just a backup, not a #1 ruckman.
- We are in the market for another key forward, but only if a good deal pops up. I guess Hogan and Cameron were not considered favourable. I think this holds for the ruckman as well. A small vote of confidence for Amartey and McLean.
- It seems that we are content enough to go forward with our current hand, unless the conditions suit a trade.
- This makes sense, as we have a young and largely untested list. We can use another year to develop and test a slew of players that didn't get an opportunity this year, in part due to COVID.

The only ones who didn't get a game last year were the Budmeister and the Gouldmeister. The rookies who missed out have all been delisted. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment
