Every time I listen to McGuire I'm reminded of that quote from George Orwell's "Animal Farm."

"All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others."
When I listen to McGuire. I can' help noticing how much he sounds like the denizens of sky. Completely partisan in everything they do, then when someone offers a counter argument they squeal about level playing field / media bias. A the lack of empathy and self awareness that's symptomatic of NPD.

Fully understand why the AFL can’t announce this today but wtf do other leagues have to wait for the AFL!!!!

The game is called Australian rules football. I wish we could have ANFC back.

If Gill is the AFL's Malcolm Turnbull, then Eddie is Barnaby Joyce. Barnaby says he hates government interference.... unless its drought relief for his farmers, then he's all for it. With no strings attached of course. Free money, all snouts around the trough.

I have a feeling that Gill will mimic Turnbull again soon. Turnbull, when asked what one of his main achievements was stated gay marriage equality, despite him and his party being dragged there kicking and screaming by Labor and the other minor parties. I reckon Gill will claim restarting the AFL after Covid-19 as his main achievement, despite the NRL and other sports leading the way for him.

              SANFL

They’ve been told to wait for the AFL date of return before they’re able to announce their date of return. Slightly understandable for SANFL due to AFL reserves sides but they could start with a bye for them sides. They’ve announce a start training date May 18.

Andrews just announced that professional sports (AFL/NRL) can resume training from Tuesday 11.59pm

No announcement in his press conference how many and what level of contact.

                      Galahs perhaps?
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

What’s the likelihood that the AFL abandon their insistence on fairness if the VIC teams will be gaining an advantage. Or that McGuire and others demand their clubs exercise their RIGHT to train?

Quite impressed by Andrew's handling of covid 19 but McGuire is apparently one of his close confidantes so rule nothing out. Bet money McGuire was on his ear re MCG extending GF contract till 2057.

I don't know how the AFL can even work on a fixture with each state having different level of restrictions and border closures. The obvious thing to do for Round 2 would be to have local derbys.

I can't see games starting by June 11 as was reported on the weekend...well at least not in Victoria.

I'm quite optimistic that they will start by then, but working out a fixture might be a nightmare. Well, it would be okay if doing a home and away, or one hub of eighteen teams, but three hubs of six, could be a problem. You might have to do something like, play 5 rounds, then fly 3 teams from each hub to a different hub. Then repeat twice and hope that the final two rounds don't end a mystifying head scratcher.
