How does a gash on the shin warrant a 10 minute stop though, including a 5 minute cart crawl off the ground ? Whether intentional or not it was a ridiculous delay in a game for the injury type. Wouldn’t you want to get him off ASAP to treat the gash ?

Who the f is Buckley to suggest Wicks was to blame on the Quaynor injury?

Was he saying the studs were illegal? If not, what was he suggesting?

Not sure he’s underrated on RWO. There’s a lot of love for Rowbottom on here, there’s maybe one or two I can think of who aren’t sold that he’s much more than a decent prospect. I’m firmly in the Rowbottom is a future captain/ premiership star / Bloods legend Camp. He’d be top 5 in our B&F this year too, and would bet he’ll finish that way.

Yeah I just looked, horrendous looking gash. Still don’t understand why that took ten minutes to get off the ground? I would imagine you get that off the ground ASAP to treat.

Rowbottom, Dawson and Lloyd were the leaders tonight. Thurlow showed he is worth giving a go as did Wicks.Parker and Florent very disappointing as was Melican. Stephens has found the pace of the game and should be a regular from now on.Sinclair fought on gamely but my God, his ability to get the ball to opposition mids is unbelievable. What the hell was Aliir doing? 3 possessions!Taylor, Bell, Ling in line for replacement. Will probably see Brand, Blakey and one or two of McInerney, Warner, LT or maybe even Zac Foot next game.

Apparently they are saying some of our players were wearing metal studs including Wicks which caused the injury! If this is false (which i bloody hope it is) then we best hit back hard at these prices attacking our club again!

Personally I would keep Bell and Ling in the team I think bell is hard at it and then when he plays he will get better and I think Ling needs to be given a few games more to see how he goes and I wouldn't bring Blakey back until he shows better form in scratch matches

Don't know the facts but I'm sure they'll come out. if they didn't have metal studs then I am feeling sick of these coaches from other teams coming up with piss poor ridiculous excuses for their own team or making false accusations

Agree with most of what you say for except Bell, he’s building. Wasn’t amazing but there are signs he’s got something we should persist with. And Blakey, he needs a few weeks to realise games aren’t gifted to him. He needs to earn them. Bang the door down and you bet a game. Exhibit A Sam wicks.

Many, many years ago, umpires would go into the rooms before the game to check the bootstuds of every player.
                            Does that still happen?

Not even that long ago. They’d check the studded boots too look for sharpness, or otherwise you’d have moulded.

Also I thought that was Papley's worst performance of the year. He has kept us in or won us games so far this year, so to get so close with dubious umpiring and without him making an impact was reassuring.
