The Hun has us taking Darcy Wilmot, Cooper Murley (a zippy small forward from Norwood) and Charlie Dean. I'd be okay with that.
They have Warner going to Freo at pick 21, a bit early by most pundits' estimates.

I'd be surprised if we took a small forward as we have a plethora of youngsters of this kind. But would not be surprised with any picks by KB as he knows better than me!!! Wilmot and Dean not bad picks, particularly Dean who is sort of a mature ageComment

My version has Corey W going to Freo at pick 36, one spot AFTER we take Murley

I would take Corey ahead of Murley. That would really make a good draft.Comment

Unfortunately, that was probably the least anonymous part of his Swans career. Occasionally, he looked pretty good in the NEAFL, but I don't recall him ever dominating a game, or really pushing his case for promotion.

Although, I could learn to love the name; Cooper Murley.Comment

Why the ruck merry-go-round put this draft prospect in a spin
You guys have read this. Shame not to take him given his obvious talent, cousins and desire to play for us. Can we let McAndrew go? - really don't rate him.Comment

If there is a 1 draft point benefit to them in a trade of that scenario, they may as well do it. The only issue with having to offer a premium in this situation is other clubs offering a better package with a greater points total.
I still think we would have put 31, 39 & 70 on the table - hoping Geelong doesn’t go ahead with offering 32 & 50. Only reason they’d not offer that would be if they looked at 50 and thought with that dropping back to more like 40 after the Bulldogs/Collingwood picks being wiped out with bids, they value a couple of players they want at 32 & 40 ahead of who they’d get earlier access to at 23.
But IMO it’s not worth it to us to offer future swaps as a sweetener - just hope Geelong pull out, otherwise let it be and use 31 & 39 which aren’t bad in an even draft.Comment

RD, I think we have already signed McAndrew for another season. McAndrew is a true project player. He played Union till recent years and so is still learning our game. The young lad from country Victoria has probably been playing AFL since he was very young so he has a big headstart over McAndrew. I agree though that another one of the McCartin clan is an attractive proposition for us.
Overall our management of the ruck position has been shambolic since our last flag. We have taken punts on long shots who haven't worked out but at the same time given up guys who have gone on to do well at other clubs. Extending Naismith's contract was the icing on the cake of bad decisions. Hickey exceeding all expectations massively is the only bright point but I would argue this was a fluke. It also didn't come free with us losing AAAA.Comment

I'm aware of McAndrew's background. Keep in mind, he was nowhere near elite level rugby, unlike Folau, Hunt and Pyke and he played a position (second row) which doesn't really require anywhere near the situational awareness required to play elite AFL. His performances in the VFL were ungainly and he showed a distinct lack of mobility. Other than being tall (209cm), I have very little confidence he will make it.
