Lipinski is very good around goals. Would be a good addition to our 22, but probably not the type of player we need the most.
These headlines generally come out from a manager looking to inflate negotiatons, not a club signalling intent.

Lipinski would be a good get. He is very talented but stuck behind an elite midfield. This should mean that we should get him for unders (3rd ounder?). Sure, we are in greater need for a KPD but if you can get a bargain, get the bargain.

He’s 22 so a good age. There has to be something of a clear out this year you’d think with Clarke, Gray, Ling, Ronke, Bell on the chopping block (apologies I have no knowledge of their contract situations). He’d be an upgrade on all of those.

              Patrick Lipinski | AFL

              Matthew Ling | AFL

The Lip for the Ling ?

New opportunities for both players pick14 and pick28 same age and Lingy may want to get back to Victoria?

OR the Ross for the Ling?

My gut feeling is that we will go for a trade as above plus we may even give up a decent pick for another player that has 50 or more games and we like their trajectory

My sense for this is, is simply we need to bolster our team and go for a top4 spot in 2022.........we have a good base right now but need more to be on 12 wins rather than 8 wins at this time of the season

What about Stephens for Elliott Himmelberg or Ladhams / Mayes. I'd be happy with that deal.

If we're looking at midfielders, I would think it spells the end for Hewett. Someone like Lipinski would add more pace and can play off HB as well. It makes sense. We get some salary cap relief and probably pick up a 2nd round pick as well.

                      Hi all,

Heard from a reputable source we are looking at Jack Billings and have met with his manager! Restricted free agent out of contract this year

Heard on facebook somewhere Finn Maginness, father son player from Hawthorn was on our radar

Billings is a good player but he's not what we need, nor are Maginnis or Lipinski, unless of course several of our circa 180cm mid/small def or attacker players are on the move (or being shown the door).

It is clear we need a tall defender and a backup ruckman (preferably one that can play forward too), both ready to play AFL.

                            Hi Ralph,

I expressed a similar view earlier about our interest in Lipinski. The midfield doesn't feel like a pressing need! But we don't know all the moves the club are making - maybe it's indicative that we will take a KPD or ruck with our draft pick?? Looking forward to it

The issue with our list is the first and second round failings (so far) from the past few seasons. We've got Ling, Stephens, Blakey, and Gould playing in reserves and not looking too likely to make a huge step up this year. Add to the the disaster that was Elijah Taylor and there are 5 players who should've been part of our foundation moving forward.

I haven't given up hopes on these players (perhaps except for Ling) but we really need them to make that next step soon.

Jack Billings? No. Soft as butter in the sun on a 40 degree day.

We don't need any more fringe players. We have enough. I get the shakes when we look at these sorts of players. So they drop off Gray and Taylor and pick up Billings. Sheesh.

If we pick up this bloke then it is simply self payback for Hannaberry.
