No way I would have chosen this; but we just have to make this work for us. Get well compensated, make the most of the extra cap space. We're lucky that we're better placed to cover his loss than most teams with the likes of Blakey, Campbell, Gould, McInerney etc.
I think we may be better off dealing with Port:
1. We don't have to worry about them using the threat of walking Dawson to the PSD to drive the price down;
2. They know, and we know, they did very nicely out of us last year for Alice and that my win us a scintilla of goodwill.
3. Although he's worth it, Adelaide aren't going to give us pick 4/6.All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

I think money is a major factor in Dawson's choice. Stings a bit more.
I agree it's the first time in ages we've lost a player we really didn't want to. Hurts so much.All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Got to be worth on Par with Time Kelly which equated to Pick 2.
Id be happier turning a high pick into a 23yr old that wanted to be in Sydney, rather than draft a kid that wants to go home in 2 yrs
Sydney probably grab a 2nd rounder for him, has to be that pick 4, which goes to a pick 6 after the nominations

Got to agree that we now must look at the other side of the coin and see how we can make the most of this. I’d much rather keep Dawson because players like him don’t grow on trees. However, we now must assume that this frees up significant money which can be used in any number of ways:
* re-sign Stephens as a priority.
* offer extended contracts to McDonald, Campbell, and Gulden.
* offer a decent contract to Ladhams as part of a trade with Port.Comment

Morris cuts though the spin. Despite the legion of supporters on here saying that he and Edmund have no credibility, they have predicted this.
I want to know if Parker getting paid is a factor? I think Swans supporters should analyse this question. Were Parker’s demands met over Dawson’s demands?
I will await Tom Morris’s analysis.
In my opinion the next four years of Dawson were going to be better than the next 4 years of Parker. I’m a keen follower of American sports and I know the decision that would have been made with this scenario.Comment

Swear filter breach
Seriously though, he must have the IQ and personality of an ant if he wants to live in Adelaide
Sydney Swans statement: Jordan Dawson

Dawson has disappointed all. Closer to Family is always a good "excuse". He must have been offered a very good financial reward as well as Port Adelaide is close to a flag window. First Allir and now Dawson, wonder more Swans will follow !!! Can we insist to trade him to the Crows and not the Powers?Comment
