Josh Kennedy has signed a 1 year deal with the Swans. Does anyone feel that his job with the Swans would just about be complete by the end of this season?

Would it be a smart move by Kennedy to move to a developing team like an Adelaide Crows, Gold Coast Suns, Fremantle Dockers or a North Melbourne to provide experience, teaching, leadership coaching and a strong body. Players like Hodge, Birchill, Sam Mitchell, Jordan Lewis and Daniel Cross have all gone to developing lists and made a great contribution. Kennedy may score a 2 year deal and improved money than what the Swans could afford.

The Swans could aquire a pick in the 50s or 60s to help with some future draft points.

I feel that our centre square midfield game will contain players like Parker, Warner, Rowbottom, Mills and Florent who will be one year older and stronger as a group next season. Stephens would come into consideration as well. Hewitt is there as well.

That part of the ground is well catered for.

Absolutely agree. I am surprised that Leppitsch - who has been a senior coach and should understand the pressures on young draftees - would feel the need to make his point by naming a specific player. And in a way that pots the player, rather than just highlights different styles and different clubs.

And SEN really didn't need to make an article about it. There are hours of dribble broadcast over the course of every day, and they certainly don't turn most of it into articles on their website.

Don't disagree about potting the young player, but I remember the question mark on him was his low contested possession % at u 18 level, i think it was somewhere in the mid to low 30's, some stats bandied about at the time showed that a player with that breakdown will not make it at AFL level

Hayward also has a long history of missing sets shots and poor disposal. Again would that change?

I believe you're mistaken, by my recollection in his first two years he was extremely accurate. It wasn't until the jaw break that it started to deteriorate - in particular with set shots.

No. The Hwaks' veteran stars left as their premiership window had already closed. Our window has just open wider and wider. As a whole, we are a young team and need a few more experienced leaders.

Kennedy is playing very good footy. He certainly has another year in him. It looks to me that with Mills and Warner going into the midfield the pressure is off him. Got plenty of loose ball on Saturday.

Here is my list of duds since 2012 that we drafted but who played little or no senior football. I have not included rookies in it as these are always speculative picks. I also did not include those who left for other clubs.

So I guess the lesson is that on average we draft one per year who does not make it. 2014 was an especially bad year. 2013 and 2020 were exceptional.

I recall Harrison Marshall playing very well in the 2016 preliminary final. We dropped him for Jarred McVeigh returning from injury, or it might have been Callum Mills. Anyway my point is that "dud" might be a tad unfair. He went back to Subiaco and won a premiership

JK has the privilege of going out on his own terms. He's been an incredible player for our club. He stays as long as he wants.

By the way, can we all remember a crucial element of our recruitment strategy - Tom Papley's right foot.

If he hadn't blundered so many opportunities in that final round against Geelong, we'd have skipped ahead of Hawthorn on the ladder.

They would have bid on Campbell, forcing us to take him, and we would have been denied another pick to get at McDonald.

Great news to just read that Blakey, Warner and Rowbottom have all re-signed. Rowbottom and Blakey till 2024 and 2023 for Warner. Hopefully, more good news to come in the coming weeks with McCartin, Florent etc.
