Both good depth players and Robbie had a good block of games towards the end of the home and away season but like a few others went missing against the interlopers in the final. Depth is good to have but they are very similar players in size and we could still do with an agile reasonably athletic gorilla down back

The AFL site also has this to say about some of the names on our list who are still unsigned. Personally I don’t think many will be in Red and White next year. I was surprised that Ryan Clarke has only just turned 24 for some reason I thought he was a bit older than that.
It leaves Kaiden Brand, Ryan Clarke, Sam Gray, Matthew Ling, Sam Reid, Ben Ronke, Lewis Taylor and Callum Sinclair among those out of contract.

I understood that Taylor was contracted for next season. I think he joined on a 3 year contract.

A little harsh considering Fox started as the medical sub and only played 18% of the game.

Fox is criminally underrated here. Good 3rd tall defender with aggressive rebound and decent skills. Plays with passion. 1yr deal and him being rookie listed is pretty harsh treatment for a good player over the last 2 years.

I like Fox too and love it when he takes off from defense. He has good speed and I think he is in our best 22.

Apologies to Robbie I overlooked that fact and still rate him and think he has an ongoing place in our beat 22 , unless we sign someone out of left field.

whats wrong with swapping 4 (port adelaide and our 12) plus get 37 from them as well leaves us with 4,31 and 37. port should be a NO they havent got the picks. I guesds crows would not do a swap for 23 as well. dont wont to leave jordan so unless we can change his mins we MUST get the best deal for us, its not as if he is a free agent.

Dropping him for Melican in the final was pretty poor I thought

Are you suggesting we accept pick 16 from Port for Dawson and swap that and our pick 12 for Adelaide's picks 4 and 37? Why would the Crows do that deal?

Just for my own clarification what do you consider a tall defender? I see people referring to Robbie as one but he is only 187 cm or about 6 foot 1 which in my opinion is not a tall defender given the number of 195 cm plus forwards that we see nowadays .
I just looked at the last five minutes of the 2012 GF and in that game LRT was awesome for us however I seem to remember he wasn’t viewed as a particularly big defender at the time but he was still 194 cm.
Have defenders shrunk or has the level of athleticism required to stay on a list increased ?
I don’t know for sure but I kind of miss the Gorillas who would keep a show pony full forward accountable.
PS I am in not in any way a fan of some of the tactics previously used by a FB to nullify the ability of a FF to impact a game but I do enjoy seeing two big bastards fighting over the flight of the ball and competing for it on the ground.

Somebody (Swans Central) annonced on Twitter Fox has signed on for 1 year.

I have asked for their source.
