Be more interested in swapping 16 for Richmond's 26 & 27 and taking Corey Warner with one of them :-)
The club will be all over these type of trades if we are not that wedded to the handful of players likely to be at pick 16. Be prepared for anything to happen and don't get disappointed because the club knows waaaay more than we do about the draft pool.
Don't try and justify pick swaps on points as points are only relevant when matching bids. Pick 7 & 8 may be worth more points than pick 1 but you never swap pick 1 for them
We’ll get three good picks that year. I’d expect Anderson so be a rookie but we’d probably match a later bid if we rate him.Comment

Just watched about 20 minutes of an Academy U19 game from 5 months ago against GWS on YouTube to keep a close eye on Anderson (#26) and I must say that I did like the look of him! He's a good sized inside mid and won a bit of ball but also won a few free kicks for great tackles too! He matched up a bit on young Green from GWS (Tom's younger brother) who is also a big lump of a lad for a midfielder and he certainly held his own and won a few contest's when matched on him.
I think he'd definitely be worth a late pick or rookie pick as he hopefully has the potential to replace the likes of Joey and Parker as a strong inside mid if he continues to develop in a coupleof years!

Cal Twomey's latest 'Phantom Form Guide' has dropped: Cal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide: Top draft prospects' October ranking (afl.com.au). It's changed a fair bit after the first dozen with some players sliding and others climbing. Interesting considering it is a phantom form guide not a phantom draft and I don't think there has been any footy played since the last one (although there have been the combines).

Question: how come Collingwood has accumulated 9 picks to use to match the bid for Daicos? As far as I can tell they have delisted 6 and brought in two (Lipinski and Kreuger) so they shouldn't have anywhere near 9 list spots open. Didn't they introduce a rule a while back that you had to have list spots open equal to the number of picks you want to use for matching bids? Have they done away with that rule? All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

I'd rather look at what Kevin Sheehan says about the youngsters in this year's draft. After all , he watches the youngsters in under age grades all over Australia. Most others depend on watching tape. Just look at Cal Toomeys picks, majority Victorian boys. The SA and WA boys had lots more opportunity to play and showcase their talent. So this year's draft will be like a lottery and we can pick up real bargains right the way through the draft.Comment

The picks a team has can change with further pick swaps in the lead up to and during the draft. I think there's a no swap embargo for a week before the draft.Comment

This year's draft will be more difficult to predict because the Giants have pick 2 (ignoring the father-sons Daicos and Darcy) and this year has been impacted by the pandemic. It's not clear who the Giants would pick. With little opportunity for the prospects to showcase their talents, this year will be a lucky dip for the other clubs too. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more early draft busts and late graft gems than usual this year."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

I think Twomey talks to the club recruiters A LOT and this informs both his form guide and his Phantom DraftComment

Twomey is very good at the phantom drafts, so much so that when a club chooses differently inside the first five picks it's quite a surprise, such as North Melbourne's 2020 pick 2. It's not unusual for him to nail 8 of the first 10 picks. He's aware of the list needs of all the clubs and can made very good guesses. He would make an excellent recruiter.
