The rolling back and covering in defence created a lot of perceived pressure and fumbly Richmond forwards. The look of that creative play time and time again was impressive, and now with Cunningham and Campbell and Tampe we have three players who have the speed and can really create that pressure in a jiffy. It was ultra impressive.
I don’t know what else we need. And not sure if any of the other players can come and displace anyone on current form. However, things do change and someone may get injured or lose form. But the players coming in will be on notice to up their game.
Thought Campbell was quiet in the second half and not sure how much time he was on. Not sure if I saw a minor limp in his right leg after the game. No concderns about any of the others. They were great and what a job Hewett did on Martin when he went forward.
I loved the tackle that Cunningham put on Bolton deep in defence. Should have got a free, but instead, the ball spilled out and we went on a helter skelter rebound, that ended up with a goal to McDonald (IIRC).
I issued an apology early in the thread, but I will apologise again for doubting Wicks.
I was enchanted with Stephens being a top 5 pick from an AFL state while Wicks was a rookie listed player from Manly. I was backing the 1st round pick. As a Tom Brady fan, who was a 6th round pick, who went on to be the GOAT, I should know better.
Fair call mate corrected your error . I to would love to see Stephens in the side but atm there is simply no room for him .
We have found our mythical tap ruckman and I am please to admit I was wrong about the effectiveness of this magical, winged creature. Hickey has made a massive difference to our midfield setup.
You are so right, he is like a mythical creature! What a great recruiting decision.
Oh and I have to say - Heeney had a relatively quiet day today by his lofty standards. But what about that left foot kick from 45 on the boundary line. Is there anything he can't do - was just a thing of utter frigging beauty!
That was a great goal. Even the Richmond supporter in front of me was clapping!
Yes, I think the Cunningham tackle started an adventurous movement, that finished with McLean hitting it on to Wicks, who then slapped it on to McDonald. It could've broken down at almost any stage, but didn't.
As good as Aliir has been and will be for Port... The value of Hickey so far to our overall team is far more significant to our performance. Unreal today. Did it at both ends, tapped well, competed at ground level. And his skills are far better than I ever anticipated.

Maybe it was cramp? I noticed Rampe was struggling towards the end and he was stretching his leg.
Can I give a shout out to Kennedy. There has been a lot of discussion about him lately that he could be nearing the end. He is not the beast like he used to be but he does those little things that you don't notice right away. Like the toe poke to Warner for that running goal.
There has always been a role for Cunningham and he has always played it well. Just been a few loonies on here with no idea calling for him to be dropped.
