I think you're right but he can still drift in occasionally for one or two goals a game. As much as he is maligned on here at times for not delivering enough and rightly so, he is still a very handy player to have for his versatility alone....and when he's 'on', he can be top shelf.

That was one of the best wins I have seen. To be at the G for it was even better.
Whole team performance really. So many positives but can’t go past Mills the midfielder, Wicksy, Hickey, Papley, Hewett beating Dusty and the old hands Parker and JPK.

Warner was drafted from WA and is not a former Academy player. Our ex-Academy players are: Gulden, Campbell, Wicks, Bell, Blakey, Mills and Heeney.Last edited by Aprilbr; 3 April 2021, 08:45 PM.Comment

I thought the "Oldies" were much better today. Joey and Parks were super, Rampe was back to his best and Hewitts job on Dusty was exceptional. Even Cunningham shone. That was up there with the best wins I have witnessed in over 60 years of being a Swans supporter. I'm also stoked we got Hickey, his tap work was excellent and he gave us heaps around the ground. So good to have a real Ruck man again.Comment

Yes it is disgusting and sickening and massively hypocritical people complaining about Wickes who could have been drafted by anybody but went through to the rookie draft and complaining about other players who would not even be playing AFL if the academy did not exist yet teams like the Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn are happy to have the Grand Final played at the MCG when they finished lower on the ladder than Sydney. they are hypocrites who need to shut the f up.Comment

There’s a great review I’m of the game on The Mongrel Punt.

So changes for the Bombers:
Obviously Buddy in for Hmac out.
Beyond that who might they “rest” to bring some fresh blood (Stephens, RB, Ling, Gould etc) into the team.
I presume 2 or 3 players will be managed,
The youngest crop includes Warner, Wicks, Campbell, Logan, Gulden.
It’s so hard to guess. No now should be dropped after today. Fascinating selection ahead.Comment

Rowbottom should be back too. So at least two changes. Nobody deserves to be dropped after that game. I thought everyone contributed including Blakey who went so close to kicking one of the most brilliant running goals you could ever wish to see.
A lot of the players were cramping up and it was such an intense effort by us. Certainly some sore bodies to potentially rest with a short gap to our next game. Bombers looked good today so no easy game coming up!Comment

Well well we are back !
I am still not convinced of Wicks but credit where its due he has surprised me with his skill level. I had previously pegged him as a work horse and nothing more. Perhaps i was wrong.
Hickey monstering Opponents now every week. Astute pick up. Parker was superb today. Mills finally living up to his potential. Warner is just supreme. How anyone can want Rowbottom in this team is absurd. Keep the unremarkable away and we win every day. Simple equation.
I quietly liked the game of Braeden campbell. Nullified their dangerous small fwds on several occasions. Good player. Dawson is an unreal kick of the ball. Glides through the air. Poetry in motion. Papley back to his best.
Lots to like. We will crush Essendon

Florent also surprised me with some of his delivery. Worked hard in that area by the looks of itComment
