You think wrong we all don’t agree with you and strangely enough neither do the match committee.
If Chad was ready to play and there was a place he could fill he would be selected. Most of the non selection discussion has been generated by you and your sycophantic offsider.

Pointless, repetitive prattle is just annoying. Just watch the game, enjoy it if you can, and comment to your hearts content after the fact, win, lose or draw.
Off course the people who select the team are smarter than us in selecting the team. They have done this their whole life and are highly experienced. I’m accepting off that.

What you are also saying in your statement is that no person in society has the right to question any decision if the decision is made by experts.

Why do you involve yourself in a fan forum website? You could could get all the information you require from the Swans website and press conferences.

Is the role of a fan forum to pass on what Swans.com says or to debate with each other what is said?

Joey will hopefully be ready next week.. he will either replace Rowy, or.. if Rowy earns his spot, it could force Hewett out of the mids back into HB, and O'riordan might be the casualty. So that is Joey's spot taken care of - on notice are Rowy and O'Riordan

But there is also a spot in the fwds.. Wicks has had a quiet few weeks, Campbell also needs to continue performing as he is not quite cemented his place yet.. though Chad is not quite in their mould if the MC feel like Chad can do their role better, that is a possibility..

So Chad will be eagerly watching all of Rowy, O'Riordan, Wicks and Campbell in the hopes that 2 of them are dropped to make way for he and JPK. However... how great would it be if all of those boys can perform and hold their spots?? Well.. one of them will definitely have to go for Joey, unless there is an injury.. but it's certainly not a bad place to be if we can't fit a talent like Warner in the team!!

If i had to bet - which i am against - i would say it's likely Rowy won't be fit enough to put together the kind of game that would hold one of JPK or Chad out.. and Wicks and Campbell are also low-possession players who might be one quiet game away from being dropped for Chad.. So i would assume the changes for the first final would be Rowy, Wicks/Campbell out .. JPK, Chad in ..

That is IF we are lucky! As last week proves.. you never know when the injury curse will strike!! The pleasing thing is we have such a resilient group that i would give us a good chance no matter what the circumstances!!

This is a good and logical thread.

As for Harry C, major kudos to him, and not just for what he’s done on the field this year.

When clubs are going through a big transition like we have the prior few years, you need a few blokes to hold the joint together and show the way for young blokes. Parker, Lloyd and Ramps were the dominant, consistent ones, but I’ll bet everyone at the club loved the selfless way Harry goes about things and when it comes to the training track, preparation and stuff, I’d bet he’d be one the coaches point to for the young blokes and say: do that.

We’ve got to keep asking why and trying to work out why decisions are made.
It’s fair enough to ask why and question selections however there needs to be a point when the discussion ends.
The particular selection that you are so focused on has had several posters provide reasonable insight into why they think the decision has been made .
You and your fellow Chadcheerer don’t want to acknowledge them or discuss them and so have dismissed them as they don’t align with your point of view.
It almost appears that you remain focused on revisiting the subject in the hope of finally having someone say you are right.

Just looking for more insight into Chad. Maybe someone has seen him play in reserves and it’s clear he’s down on form or confidence since returning from injury. Maybe he hasn’t developed confidence in his body since returning and is breaking no lines and not attacking the ball and body hard. Maybe he’s not following through with his kicks. I think I and other big Chad supporters just want more insight into the situation.

It can’t be that’s Chad’s not perfectly fit. Rowbottom is not perfectly fit and is only putting together a half of football at the moment. He keeps getting selected.

It’s as clear as day why McLean was retained and Reid omitted. Any red and white reader can see that.

            With Chad mystery abounds.

I think a few on here are forgetting the impact of Chad’s senior games this year.

Don’t think so TB. He may be better than Wicks and possibly JR (at the moment) but that’s about it. The only other player I can think of is Ollie, but I can’t see the MC dropping him for Chad.

I would have rested the Wick and brought Chad in, tbh but I’m happy if he is the sub!

Captain, no. The Pelican is needed for height and Robbie can’t counter tall, powerful forwards. He is good on the smaller guys but we have them covered with Harry and Lloyd, who do it better. Hard to find a spot for him in defence when everyone is fit.

I disagree, last year showed he can take the 2nd or 3rd tall due to his leap and athleticism (a la a poor man's Rampe). Sure you don't want him on the big key forwards like Hawkins, Dixon and McKay, but I think the belief he can't play on tall forwards is a total misconception that I've seen a few times now on RWO.

Bangalore and TB- please stop your obsession with Chad! We all know he is a very talented young man but he has only played a handful of games and he has all in front of him. He will be a permanent member of our team but for now, for whatever reason, the MC doesn’t think he is ready. Next week is another story and he may very well be in the team.

I think it’s wrong to ask why others are playing this week ahead of him- obviously he is deemed by the coaches as not yet ready: simple as that! Nothing to do with ability, as you are suggesting.

I'm suprised they haven't gone with Warner, but I'm comfortable in the knowledge that by far the best judges of whether he should be selected are the coaches and the selection panel. But it would now be a big call to bring him in for the first final off no really serious hit outs.

I don't necessarily agree that Reid is necessarily straight back in for the final - given his tank, if Mclean can have a good game on the weekend, he might do enough to hold Reid out (The trade off here is McLean's ability to run hard with a big tank vs Reid's versatility in terms of being able to go back if need be and be a spare man, and also his experience too). But I lean towards him quite possibly being a back in for the elimination final unless Mclean manages a 'must pick me' performance this week.
AND if either one gets in front of goal I know who I would have far more confidence in potting it !

Lomgmile, let’s recall he was delisted but then recalled. Robbie can be good but let’s face it- with his leap and athleticism he should be doing more in a backline that has often been under siege. The Pelican has height and strength in his favour but I grant you he may not be much better. He needs to play in this game in case he is needed for the finals- that’s my take on it. Good to have Robbie available if needed and it will depend on the matchups who is selected.

I think Fox is severely underrated in defence. Hopefully he comes back next week, he provides great drive off half back to which is needed in absence of Blakey.

Hopefully Robbie is being managed rather that omitted. He has played every game since round 8.
Maybe the match committee are just getting an extra game into Melican and O'Riordan so they better understand their options in the elimination final

The Swans admitted it was a stuff up. They intended to keep him on the rookie list and the AFL had changed the rules.

Sure Fox isn't an elite KPB, but with McCartin and Rampe he's good on the 2nd or 3rd tall and provides much more attack, rebound and run out of defence than Melican

Maybe he just isn't taking his career seriously and the selectors are telling him to buck up by not picking him......

After all if such baseless nonsense can be thrown around about other players, why not Chad?

I'm sure the real reason is much more mundane lol.
