    Regarding Umpires being Sacrosanct.
They used to be clad in white for eactly that reason. I think that the change in attire and the ersatz familairity they are coached to display, just diminishes that status. No excuse for touching one though.

Umpires, whether it's Stevic or not, are SACROILIAC....you cannot touch them in the lower back in any way.

if it makes you feel better.
You have surpassed yourself. Well played.

We had a firm grasp on this game but could not seal the deal .. got our hands on it enough but were we always effective?? Unfortunately not. Botched some inside 50s and failed to capitalise on many scoring opportunities

These disposal efficiency numbers from some of our prime ball users make for grim reading..

        Heeney - 66%
        Dawson - 66%
        Franklin - 64%
        McInerney - 64%
        Parker - 58%
        Papley - 37%

All but two Swans had at least 1 clanger and exactly half the team (11) had at least 3 clangers ..

Just too many Swans players not being as clean as we needed to be. It will hurt. Lessons to be learned. Something to work on and come back even better next year!!

I’m reversing my tune about Toby .

          He will be suspended.

Gosh, Cameron must be tearing his hair out dealing with Tobys brilliance and his insane team harming behaviour .

I was so intimidated by TB- I don’t know what came over me! But I must be brave, so here goes:
Rowie: average plus- carrying an injury for long periods.

TB and Bangalore- I’ll take my punishment now!

Its a good test of stevics character. Based on his history with us, I'm glad he's under the spotlight.

Does anyone know what Toby was complaining about, other than stevic being a flog.?

Btw "flog" is another word I hate.

Ah, that explains the "Fresh camera angles of the incident came to light on Sunday, ending the debate over whether Greene made contact with Stevic." from the ABC today.

Well now I don't know what to believe. Was that Twitter footage doctored? This is turning into the "not 15 / touched play on" debate we had a few months ago.

Based on that YouTube second angle I'd have to change my mind again and call it as it was seen the first time: intentional, disrespectful and demonstrative. Hence straight to tribunal.

Whether he actually made contact, or Stevic had to manoeuvre to avoid him, shouldn't make any difference anyway. It's not up to Stevic to have to get out of the way because Toby decides to plow straight ahead despite a fluoro clad, upright, bipedal officiator standing stationary in his path.

I agree. I was trying to say that they would have finished higher on the ladder if not for their injuries, but we were the better team all season and probably yesterday too.

Couldn't agree more. It's a stupid word generally used by stupid people (present company excluded).

I think those numbers demonstrate how much we missed Mills and Kennedy. Those two are usually at the coalface getting their hands dirty with contested possession feeding it out to the other guys who are free on the outside

That new 3rd camera angle shows Toby shouldering directly into Stevic whilst having that (pretending) look away as he made shoulder contact.

Tom Morris on Fox Footy (First Crack) last night predicted Toby will get 2 weeks. He cited all the media talk about Stevic stepping out of the way, having friendly discussion with Toby afterwards, Toby's character and being a finals match does NOT come into it whatsoever.

David King was more severe saying Toby should get 4 weeks. He added the AFL has created grey area with this recently and this incident is clear example you do not DELIBERATELY touch umpire in any circumstance, as this sort of stuff gets filtered down into the lower leagues where there is enough trouble with umpire abuse from players/crowds.

Interestingly Montagna was debating King that Toby will get off with just a fine because of this same grey area precedence the AFL has set, referring to Fyfe's touching of umpire earlier in the season where he copped a fine and in retrospect they all agreed he should've copped at least a week's suspension.

I thought he was whining about his free kick being turned around after he elbowed JMac in the throat?

Anyway, I don’t want to think about him anymore apart from how we let him kick those goals.

I’m still filthy at how we let this game slip and how so many things went wrong. There had been so much hard work and struggle under very difficult circumstances to get to this point & we really should have nailed it.

I don’t put the blame on any player - but more in the way we approached the game (& the previous few weeks included) , the selections, the game day strategy, the inability to adapt quickly enough, the lack of composure when we needed it (& I don’t mean the missed goals - I blame the coaching panel more than anyone here). We choked (as a club) & I’m gutted for the players themselves more than anything.

A couple of things. While I haven't faced a replay yet, watching live, I thought that Greene elbowing McInerney in the head, was worth a week or at least a hefty fine. But with all the publicity over the Stevic incident, that seems to have slipped through to the keeper. And I'm not sure of the rules, but since Greene committed a reportable offence during the three quarter time break, should the fourth quarter have opened, with a free kick to us out of the square?
