The same as we expect to beat them every time, Barry. It's what makes up a strong rivalry.

It's a shame we don't appear to have the same level of contempt for them.

Look at the Freo / Eagles or Port / Adelaide they have an almost rabid hatred of each other.

Brings back memories of the old VFA - Port vs Dandenong / Preston / Coburg and just about everyone else

Didn't they have purpose built AFL facilities out at Blacktown from day dot? And then abandoned it very quickly when they wanted to train closer to where all their stars actually live.

Hardly the same if my memory is correct compared to what I understand were completely non-existent facilities for the Swans in Sydney in the early 80s.

        Tings to think about
        1) I hadn't realised. I knew about our early days and the BS that went on with Brisbane and Gold Coast, but hadn't realised what was going on at breakfat points. Clearly the AFL are utter incompetents.
        2) The sheer number of Giants players that left their club
        3) What am idiot Toby Green is
        4) We effed-up when we selected Vespremi instead of swan legend Bill Gunn's grandson (Callum Ward)

Whilst I appreciate it's more fun to suggest the move was due to proximity to Rozelle, I think the reality at the time was more butting heads with Blacktown City Council and a realisation that the setup they had wasn't quite working out.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I am not a closet Plastics fan and have better things to do with my life then waste an hour watching that.

It was a genuine question, so your alternate approach could have just been to answer the question I asked?

Comment was not meant to be a jibe - I thought I read something at the that was part of the rationale to consolidate at Olympic Park (i.e. to reduce travel time for players, both to the training facility and I believe between different parts of the training facility)?

Leaving aside your beef wih Barry, which I have no involvement with.
Not a "Plastics" fan, although I have a degree of empathy for any non Victorian team (except the Weagles).
I did however watch the doco and emerged somewhat less ignorant (see above) - which I don't regard as a waste of time.

While I consider this is probably the poorest quality Giants side we have seen in the last 5 or 6 seasons (in terms of both personnel and game style), they have the right mix of players to worry the old age pensioners, who will be feeling the heat after another week 1 loss.

If the game was in Melbourne I would still expect the Cats to win relatively comfortably, but at a neutral venue (despite it being likely the crowd will have a pro-geelong nature to it - given there is simply not many giants fans well anywhere), it might be a fairly close thing. Key for the giants is to do what they did against us - open up an early lead and hold on for dear life.

Should the Cats lose, it will be interesting to see whether Scott gets any serious heat from the media. No one can doubt his ability to get everything right during the main part of the season - the Cats have been in premiership contention for most of the time he has been coach. But there really should be more silverware in the cupboard after such an extended period of consistency.
The Cats will win by a lot. They're probably a 10 goal worse side than the Cats with Greene in the team.

You are probably right, but I'm just not convinced at all by the Old Age Pensioners. Perth isn't a ground that necessarily suits a team getting too old to run out 4x 20m quarters. But then neither does it suit the Giants, who barely lasted 3 quarters against us (in an intense game yes but not highly taxing I wouldn't have said).

I watched the Nick Haynes GWS doco. It's okay, but it didn't cover much new ground for me.
Observations ; Leon Cameron swears a lot, and maybe neither Toby or Coniglio should be captain.
Either give it back to Callan Ward or give it to Josh Kelly. They are captain types in same way Parker
                      and JPK are.

No one is trying to downplay the very ordinary facilities that the swans had at the start of the Sydney existance.

What it confirmed for me was that they through they had the 2016 PF won with 15 minutes to go, and relaxed and let the bulldogs in. Thats a barry crocker.

                          Ward definately.
Toby has disqualified himself, and Coniglio got the captaincy by contract negotiations.

Disappointing early end to the season, but being finals fodder went way, way, way beyond the expectations I had at the beginning of the year.
Not turning up in the second quarter cost us dearly. At least we don't have to beat Geelong again in a final... gives them a break from us!!
Grubby Greene is just a freakin' grub, isn't he?
I just want to punch him in the face.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Fitzroy/Collingwood where I grew up in the 40s and 50s was a pretty genuine hate fest.

Loathing, and it led to some acts on the field that would have the MRP in ears.
