Well, there's probably a few people who like the "gameday experience", but if the AFL issued a directive to no longer pummel patrons with loud music, I don't think that they would be flooded with complaints, from people missing the noise.

Bangalore, aren't you on record saying you are in favour of this kind of thing? It's a good way of growing the market or it's fun or something?

Tom Harley just said they don't apologise for the match day experience and it's here to stay (for now). He did acknowledge feedback from fans led to them lowering the volume of the music after round 2 or 3 last year (well done all you on here who complained and managed that achievement!). Critically he said "it's a balance between attracting new fans to the game..." [can't remember the exact words but something to the effect of keeping the rest of us happy].

Great [emoji1785]. So we can expect lots of “Siuuu” can we?

Watching on TV might become very attractive.

Oh please NO NO NO to that "Siuuu" crap. It was bad enough experiencing it at the tennis, I don't want to have to put up with it at the football.

If he said that they don't apologise, was someone suggesting that they should? Or was commenting on long running complaints?

                  Yeah, the latter.

Wonder what evidence Swans have, if any, that ‘crowd experience’ of the type we have had to suffer in recent years attracts new fans to follow AFL footy?

Has anyone else received their membership pack? Mine arrived today, just in time for tonight's match. Might even break out the travel cutlery set and eat dinner while watching!

I think they are going on the American experience. No matter how much the powers that be and the media try to push us to be American we are not. We do not share a common experience. Australia was an egalitarian society, where people have a sense of self, community and equality. The USA has always been a Capitalist, everyone out for themselves culture, where people are winners or losers (in their own words). So this sort of entertainment works very well on a commercial, constantly receptive, entertainment needy, consumer driven audience. But here in Australia, we have different objectives and culture. We are very opinionated people, who like to discuss the events surrounding us. So this sort of entertainment falls flat.

If I wanted to watch The Voice I'd stay home and watch The Voice. But I go out to watch the footy to see and enjoy the footy not listen to loud, earbursting music. I was a DJ for many years in nightclubs and pubs. I like loud music. But not at the footy. I would applaud replays of the goals of the game up until that point, again with the sound at a level where you could still talk, like in Kayo. That would probably prompt an even better discussion of the game up until that point. But music so loud that I can't talk to the person next to me. NO THANKS

No I haven't received mine yet. It was due to arrive Thursday or Friday but it's been stuck at an Australia Post facility since Wednesday night!

I just read that Eddie McGuire is not going to be on Fox Footy this year. He's finally gone. The season is already a tremendous success. I feel like we just won the premiership. Can we make it 2 in one season?

What, plastic knives and forks. What next! The promotions department have gone to another level.

Outstanding, and to make the news even better, Daisy Pearce has taken Carey’s role on Friday night footy.
