I can see how frustrated Kinnear is because leaving it late with Francis is stuffing up what we could do with our two first round picks.
Picks can be traded right through to the week before the ND so plenty of time.

The better run clubs/richer clubs will dominate for years to come as they either have ways and means to add extra incentives outside the cap or can peddle their culture / well run club off the field etc as a way of enticing players .
It’s a mess and now for Geelong to get Bowes and pick 7 to take on his large salary and then able to smooth it out over x amount of years is laughable . Bowes has already had his contracts back ended by Gold Coast so they could keep other players . Now he is going to do the same again at another club . He is either the nicest guy in football or he is getting kick backs in other ways . For the AFL to also allow pick 7 to be apart of the deal is a joke , fair enough if his salary for the next 2 years stayed the same but for it to be able to be kicked down the road is absolute rubbish . No wonder the crowds are dropping off , young kids are not going to support clubs that are just feeder clubs for others . They have their favourite players and watch them continually leave . They simply find another sport

Saw on IG, Jacinta F visiting her hubby in hospital after his surgery.

The finger issue? Other issue, who knows except for those who need to know?

Have seen lots of the other players having a great time in Europe, Bali and other spots. It seems most other players not needing big off season surgery which is positive.

Bring on 3.30pm so we can know if something has occurred. Personally, NO anxiety about it this years lack of action for us. Would be happy to see Francis in, but we all know Dodoro.

Is waswan correct - was permission to adjust the contract granted after the deal was done?

Francis officially traded. I'm doubtful given what he's shown so far, but he comes cheap, so no beef from me.

Welcome 'Frang'. We paid a future 4th plus slid back from pick 37 to pick 42. A reasonable price. Great depth to have on our books - can be swung forward or back. Francis' best is excellent. His main issues, apparently, are consistency and his lack of a tank.

                    Welcome to the Swans Aaron.
Hopefully he will show more at a professional, well-run club than at the rabble he was at previously.

Curiously, these seem to be the exact sentiments of the majority of the Essendon BF board.

And it'll slide back up to about 37 once Brisbane chews up a batch of picks on Ashcroft.

I can't ever remember us having so many top-end draft talents on our list: we've got players drafted (or bid on) at picks: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 10 and 11! Have we ever had so many top 5 (or even top 10) picks on our list before, even in the days when we were cellar dwellers? Rewind 10 years and we had Macca (pick 5) and Gazza (pick 6) and maybe nobody else.

While that's kinda exciting, what's much more exciting is that we have so many players who were taken much later and who are among our best players: Chad, RB, Parker, Rampe, Lloyd, Papley etc etc.

Yes, we did not give up too much to get him. I would have hated to appease Dodoro's unrealistic expectations. Going from 37 to 42 is no big deal, nor is a future 4th rounder. Also good that it did not go down to the final 10 minutes of trade time as if often the case with that individual!

It will be interesting to see how they utilise Francis. I see him more as depth at this stage but am happy to be proven wrong.

Francis was drafted by Bombers from the West Adelaide Bloods so he will hopefully buy into the Swans Bloods culture very well
