      I’m with you on this.

It really is a bit of a sad indictment on the fickle nature of some supporters (or perhaps all from time to time). If we were to look back over some of the more ruthless comments made on these boards over the last few years and the club had taken their advice we would not have many players on our list. We would also need a new coach.

I reckon they've had Fox signed up for a few weeks, but have picked the perfect time to announce his re-signing in the week where he'd already received more media coverage than the rest of his career combined, courtesy of two smothers in game that was, in all likelihood already won. In any other week, would his re-signing have garnered a stand-alone story on the front page of the AFL site.

Does the fact he's been signed for 2 years mean he's off the rookie list?

This leaves Lloyd as our main out of contract player for re-signing. Personally, I think he will stay a Swan too but if he receives a Godfather offer from elsewhere?

I wonder what Foxy staying on means for Gould?

At this stage Gould cant match what Foxy does in verstaility and Gould wont take over any of our "3 talls" Rampe, McCartins

Is there a spot for him in 2023?

If Gould received a significant offer from one of the SA teams.......would that mean we have to match an offer from a SA club to keep him if we desire for Gould to stay on?

Last question and I know this also sounds very simple...........but when reviewing contract submissions for players........does total value and term of contract trump a higher amount per annum when it come to matching?

                      ie does 3 years times $300k pa trump 2 years x $350k pa ?

Do you mean in relation to matching an offer for a restricted free agent? I would think not, as I could low ball and offer you three years at $234K pa and that would be greater than the $700K (over two years) offered by the other club.

Gould out of contract and not a RFA so matching another offer doesn't come into it.

                            3 x 300k trumps 2 x 350k

So only an agreed trade between both clubs and or Gould can go to the lucky dip pre season draft to try his luck?
