It's a tough game but it's a brutal industry. Not surprised to see Naismith go - only surprised we took so long to make the call. It's a sad end for all of them, but hopefully also the beginning of something new and great. Possibly Ronke will get picked up by another club? He'll always be able to dine out on that game he had against the Hawks on the G anyway.

I claculate we have 31 left incl francis, upgrades for mclean, mccartin and fox =34 plus 3 draftees =37 (maybe 38 if we upgrade wicks. However we have had 37 on main list for a while.
we than still have 3 left on rookie list. Does anyone agree with my summation.Comment

Sam was cruelled by injury and Bell did his best, but I was less surprised at their departure.Comment

Rookies are McAndrew, Wicks & Hall Khan. Is Sheather still Cat B? If so we have two rookie spots.
Three at the ND, one or two rookies, plus a Cat B academy throw of the diceComment

Wish these boys all the best in their future endeavours, and really hope Ronke gets picked up by another club.

Can’t believe they’ve cut Naismith. With Sinkers also gone it puts a lot of faith in Hick and MENSA. McAndrew is further away from AFL than me! Amartey is not up to it either. Would been better to keep the crayfish as at least know he’s up to it if he stayed sound. Worth the risk. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

With the 3 delistings, it probably means that we don't see trading up with our current picks and we are more likely than not to take the picks we have to the draft. That's fine with me. Most scouting reports sound about the same from year to year. Just the names are changed. There are always good players in every draft. We should get another few good prospects to add to quite a good young list. I hope we take players with speed, because that could be a point of difference for us going forward. We just might be the fastest team in the comp.
I think there are a few teams that could benefit by picking up Ronke. There was just too much competition for spots at the Swans. We may have kept him instead of Wicks if not for the fact that Wicks is contracted for next year. Good luck to him.Comment

I would like to convey my gratitude to those three guys being delisted for their efforts in the red and white. All had moments in their careers where they shined, especially Crayfish and Ronke. Bell gave it his all but probably was just not good enough. No shame in that. I hope they all have successful post-Swans journeys in life.Comment
