I caught a snippet of Hardwick's press conference and he was saying that a player told him that he went and watched the swans game on the weekend. When Hardwick asked him why, he said that he still barracks for the swans!! I assume that he was talking about Richmond's mid season draft pick Jacob Bauer who was from our academy. The look on Hardwick's face was priceless.

Maybe this is what we need. We need "double agents" or "sleepers" on the other teams. They can be "activated" from the coaches box
during the games against us, and start making deliberate mistakes where we end up with the ball every time they go near it.
I'll contact the club later today and see what they think.

True?! I did not know that. I remember him being profiled but that was not one of the things that I recall them mentioning (mostly they were making a deal out of his gay parents). I remember he seemed promising and Richmond got him cheap at the end of the first round.

Would be a no for me for recruiting Brayshaw. He is a great player but seriously lacks leg speed . We let George Hewitt go and then to turn around and basically recruit the same type of player again . We have consistently been recruiting players with leg speed .

Cam Zurhaar looks the best of the possible recruits.

1. He's out of contract
2. He's only 24. So in a good age bracket/
3. He plays for a club not likely to see finals until Zurhaar becomes a grandfather.
4. He can play a role which would allow other similar players to move into different role, i.e. Heeney and Hayward can both play more in the midfield.
5. Zurhaar is physical enough to play as a power forward, which would allow us to focus more on KPDs ion this year's draft.

I don't know what it would cost in us in both picks and salary, nor if Cam would be interested in moving to Sydney. But given our current list, there aren't too many possible recruits that make sense at this time, so Cam would be worth an inquiry.

Up until recently I would have said no way to Will in the midfield. But he has been running both ways recently and worked very hard on Saturday with very little stats to show for it. I can't see him breaking into the midfield. He would need to consistently be getting 20+ possessions. He is more of a cameo player.

He will always get a game because he is Horse's favourite.

RCD just hasn't made much progress at Richmond

Hardwick was talking about Bauer who went to watch the Swans, told Hardwick he was a Swans supporter LOL.

Academy player Bauer slipped through our indentification net last rookie draft, took himself off to the SANFL and blossomed there over half a dozen games.

I don't have any formal definitions for positions. To me, a power forward is a KPF who uses size and/or strength to win contested possessions. I would classify all our 5 KPFs as power forwards. I would also include someone like Tim Membrey as a power forward, even though he's a bit undersized.

Regarding Hayward, I include outside mids as midfielders. I wouldn't expect Hayward to be an on baller, but rather a wingman type who can play anywhere from HF to HB. I like his contested marking of late and believe he can offer another option on outlet passes. Same goes for Heeney, due to his strong contested marking. The outlet pass from defence is critical to the Swans game plan. Once we get the ball out of the danger zone, we can move the ball foreward with speed an good kicking.

Agreed with all of the above Nico. He has played very well this year and now that he has 100 games under his belt, he seems more confident and thus a better contributor. Even when his stats are not high. Happy with Wilbur!

Thought Hayward looked ten times harder than usual on Saturday. He even seemed to be relishing the physical stuff. Long May it continue.

And I’m already on the “let’s get CZ in white and red” bandwagon.
