No, O'Connor is there. Although Sinclair isn't. Which makes me wonder if he's flown to Perth as an emergency ruck? With McAndrew injured, Amartey is the only ruckman named in the VFL side.

The game is on Sunday, so there's time to fly over several players as emergencies and fly them back in time for the game.

That quarter showed that a decent ruckman comes in quite handy. Amartey was only doing a small amount and the majority was left to Maguire, a young key position size academy graduate. Consequently, the Bullants had more clean entries and established a 32-14 lead. Stephens, Gould, Shipley, Taylor, Bartholomaeus and Clarke all did pretty well in that quarter.

I think Amartey has gone down with an injury? No talls now!

            EDIT: commentators say suspected concussion

A concussion: probably from when he was slammed head first into the ground. No free kick.

I do like Morrison's efforts in the forward line.

Love O'Connor taking a mark on the lead, then putting it through from 50.

BOC to the rescue - chest mark on the lead and booming set shot from 52m. Who knows - a stint forward might be the making of him.

Roberts possibly concussed with a laceration to the head.

Which appeared to be from having his head driven into the turf in a tackle. Once again, no free kick. Frees 15-5 at half time.

There was 3 50's awarded against us in that quarter as well

                          Very entertaining half - 9.5 v 9.4
Been impressed by Gould - good reading of the play and generally penetrating disposal, Taylor - busy and composed, Roberts - hard at the contest, but will be surprised to see him again this arvo.
Morrison & Shipley have been the best of the top ups IMO.
Melican has been steady, O'Connor surprisingly effective up forward, Clarke industrious as ever, but let down by his decision making.
With (probably) two players down and no ruck, we will be up against it in the second half.

Also got to mention the bare bones commentary is better than some of the vacuous self satisfied garbage you get with the AFL.

Amartey was clearly struggling to even stand after that collision, but the ump was desperate to re-start play. I know they want to speed up the game, but where is the duty of care?

I do like Clarke's work rate at this level. Always goes in hard, and I think going into the game, he was the leading possession getter in the VFL. Roberts was and Stephens had pretty good quarters. I do like how Gould uses it out of defence. Rankin and Warner had a few nice touches. O'Connor competed well in the forward line, as did Morrison.

I hope Roberts comes back out after the break, since the lack of a ruckman, means that we'll need all of our best ball getters.

Dire quarter. Roberts didn't come back out. Wicks looks like he's limping around deep forward, possibly because we're running out of numbers on the bench. Frees now 24-9.
