Wow. I’ve been absent from here for a while but I had to come back to say, how bloody good was that !!! Ferocious pressure. That play late where the dees had a goal on a platter and we somehow managed to soother and harass and save that goal. Amazing. I’m not sure if the Rowbottom debate is still raging on here and I certainly don’t wish to restart it, but geez, if you don’t rate him , you don’t know footy. He’s been huge for us this year and was massive again tonight. Up the mighty Bloods !!!!

Buddy beat May in the mind games but was annihilated in the actual game. May is probably the best defender in the comp. Did Buddy sacrifice himself to keep May "occupied"? It definitely worked for us.

How refreshing to hear a rusted on Melbourne person - Lyon - effusively praising the swans. Take note every other commentator

Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

Lyon would find it hard to be frothing on about Sydney, but he is .

Our pressure was nuts. Parker, Mills, Rowie, Gulden and Heeney had 45 tackles between them. Heeney might have had a quiet game with eight possessions, but he had nine tackles. Unreal.

Callum Mill’s Dad on the “Roving Brian” was good and well spoken.

Wow, both Hickeys twins in hospital tonight, that’s extremely tough.

What a result. Managed to close the game out in the last few minutes particularly well.

Regardless of what happens in the next few weeks, two of my favourite memories of this year will be the goal saving tackle of Rampe against Collingwood and the outstanding effort to stop Melbourne scoring when they had two players in 30 metres of space. Just brilliant, desperate defending.

I can't help thinking that most of the young ones will win plenty.

I thought our desperate defense in the last Q was very reminiscent of the one against the Pies when they went all out and threw everything at us - even down to the goal saving spoil - this time from Fox rather than Rampe.

There's something about this side that fills me with supreme confidence.

How would it be to send Buddy off with a premiership?

Can you have a breakout year at 30? He’s been enormous since working back into the team. Prefer when he’s kicking harder set shots.
