    tell me more re McAndrew?

How many games had you watched him play?
How many practice games and or training?

    focussed on him primarily?

I must say from the limited training and or games i see a kid with a lot of potential.........2024/25

raw, intense defence, covers the ground really well.

    now crafting his ruck play

"Ever since"? Nah! The condition was evident long before that, Ed Considine, Michael Werner, Richard Ambrose and especially Andrew Bomford.
And Bloods05 asks a pertinent question below.

Have we recruited any since Ted?

I've only seen seen 6 VFL games, which isn't a lot, but he's already had quite the share of injuries. On the other hand I'm a bit mono minded when it comes to the rucks, so I pay close attention.
He gallups around the ground well enough as you say, but he's very well behaved as he does so.
I'd like to see him win more hit outs given his height, but his body work lacks authority at the ruck contest and smaller opponents are allowed to get to the ball or more often render his taps ineffective. Which is what worries me, because his reach is his biggest asset. He's never going to be a "human bulldozer", but "awkward bugger" should be within his grasp.
As to his ruck work, It's early days - this stuff can be learnt WITH TIME, but does he have it? I think he needs to use both arms at the ruck contest and I've never seen him flick back, smack the tap clear of the stoppage or hit a moving target.

Harry Rowston is going to GWS through their academy does anyone no if he is related to Phil Rowston who wore 38 in the reserves I think in the early 90's

I thought McAndrew marked the ball well, but it hardly matters, because he can't kick. So if he marks the ball, you might as well just hand it over to the opposition.

He must be pushing the safe limit for number of concussions permitted before hanging up the boots. When he does manage to play a game, be very rarely plays in the ruck, but rather up forward, where he shows that as far as his kicking is concerned, the only way is up.

I don't know why we kept him on the list, except that we intend to give him some solid ruck time next year to see how far he can go.

Weird stuff. Makes no sense at all.

I'd say he offers rucking, marking and reasonable defensive pressure. Mike Pyke couldn't kick much. Not that optimistic for his future career but he has some redeeming features and I thought he showed some promise early in 2022.

Lol. I think you just wanted to pull the trigger on that problem gambler line.

Thinking left field , could we offer both our first rounders this year for a crack at a potential early first rounder next year .

North , West Coast or say Hawthorn would be who I would target . Not sure North or West Coast would do it but the Hawks might. Might need a bit more to get it done though .

We were super keen to try and get up the order this year , why not target next year instead . Already looking like a deep pool for next year we’re this year it drops off pretty quickly according to the experts.
