Yes 5 goals in 3 quarters is impressive. Move over Buddy, time for a rest.

Handy that we keep on skipping away again, every time that Sandringham look like they're about to get in front. Hope we can keep it up.

I was really happy when Buller fell to us. Now I am even happier.

So glad they won, and the players themselves seemed to be delighted too.

Can't believe they actually had a win. Only Just. Some positives for a change.

Yay - go reserves! I know Sandringham are pretty garbage, but was great to see the boys get over the line, and an improved performance (showing what a few extra bodies ca

Very happy with the signs from both our mid season draft pick ups - early signs are good! If they build on that, would not be surprised to see either of them get a chance in the seniors across the rest of the season.

Interesting to see Owen down back

Yes, obviously Buller is going to get plenty of accolades, but I really liked Arnold as well. He seems to be composed and can hit a target. I was also pleased with Mitchell. It looked like he covered a heap of ground on the wing and he likes to take the game on. Stephens was very handy as an inside mid and worked well with Warner. Also liked McAndrew and was pleased that Bartholomaeus jagged the winner.

Terrific, hard-fought win by our young team. I thought Sandy were going to have too much experience in the end, but the boys brought it home. Jack Buller; 5 goals 3 behinds in his first outing. Great pick up by the club and shows a lot of promise. Corey Warner also looks like a recall to the seniors isn’t far away. Dylan Stephens clearly a class above in the midfield, just needs to bring that to the AFL. McAndrew rucked well and is actually pretty good at ground level for such a tall bloke. Will Gould was clearly just ahead of Peter Ladhams at the back of the queue when the brains were handed out. I thought Edwards did a better job in defence, and he took some excellent intercept marks. Of the small forwards Morrison was more dangerous than Konstanty, who was pretty quiet. Mitchell on the wing also looked good.
First time I’ve seen the Reserves live this year, and it was great to see them score their first win. Clearly a very young side, but there’s a lot to like.

Why on earth was Buller the last pick in his draft? What an impressive all round debut.

Also, Sandringham may not be great, but their team had 321 games of AFL experience while we had 46 games. So a fair effort from our kids.

That's the footy highlight of the weekend! Amazing what a couple of key-position players can do to a team.
Sounds like Buller and Arnold could be quite useful and if they keep this up they will be playing seniors sooner rather than later.

Didn't see the game as yet, but by looking at the stats, it appears that Konstanty had another disappointing performance. Being a first round pick small forward, he really should be playing senior football ahead of blokes like Clarke and Wicks!

Unfortunately, it's looking like another failed first round pick for Kinnear and team... just as well they always seem to find a little bit of gold in later selections and rookie drafts, or they'd be out of a job by now!

Dylan Stephens can't bring his inside game to bear in the seniors because, he always plays on the wing in seniors, a very outside portion.

Agreed. When drafted, I remember his highlights and many of them were him getting Centre bounce clearances in the SANFL and running out and kicking it inside 50!

I wonder if it's the fact he doesn't have the strength to play in the guts at AFL level, or if it's another case of our coaches playing our young talent out of their natural position in the senior side???
