I hope so because this Wicks thing doesn't sound great (hoping it didn't play a part in our form demise on the weekend and I know it could be just Caro making something out of nothing but sometimes footy journo's can actually be right)....but yes, great news re: Rowie's contract.

Just watched gettable and the manager (Ben Williams) of both Errol Gulden and Logan.. he basically said both are keen to stay at the Swans. Encouraging. Both are in negotiations with the Swans.. I dare say theat Errol will sign a long term contract and Logan 4 year s to take him through to free agency. Refer to 13 minutes and 20 seconds in...

Really like how Florent has improved, but for me, the next priorities after Gulden and Logan, are Fox and Melican,.
We lack depth with capable taller defenders, with Rampe getting older and injured now (and more injuries occur with age), Reid injured again, and Hamling yet to make a senior game for a while now.
If Florent is more easily replaced as a midfielder/mid defender, than someone who can play against 190+ cm talls.Comment

Assuming you were you trying to delete the part where you said Melican and Fox are a Priority over Floreant ?Comment

No, I really do think Fox and Melican are more critical signings as they are harder to replace than Florent (and we would get good draft pick for him if he went, not that I want him to go!).
I only wanted to edit my original post just to remove an errant comma immediately before the first full stop (I am anal with spelling and grammar), but accidentally deleted the entire post. Thanks Liz/Meg? for undeleting it.
So I am standing by my post/opinion, unpopular as it may be to some

I've never known Caro to misreport. So I won't dismiss her assertion that the ructions spread beyond Wicks and another player.
And the Swans are in effect saying they dropped Wicks and told him to bugger-off for a bit despite him doing nothing wrong - which seems more than a touch odd and encourages speculation. Stevoswan for example, isn't one for speculation.
The Swans media release doesn't preclude Caro's story either, but interest will wane soon enough unless there are further developments/leaks.Last edited by Ruck'n'Roll; 4 April 2024, 02:16 AM.Comment

Stop wringing your hands, player manager on AFL website -
"Both boys are keen to stay at the Swans. We're still deep in conversations with them but obviously clubs are always trying to chip away at things and that's the same with every player who is playing well, but we're deep in negotiations with the Swans at the moment for both Errol and Logan."
Only questions unanswered are how many years at what price?Comment

Article re Hayward and potential South Australia pull. Mentions parents wanting him home, but that is not a sensational revelation.
