But AJ was a pick #58 - so not realy relevant to discussions of top end pick failures.
You’re quite right about AJ, I wondered why he’d been included in that list at all. But after a bit of memory jogging I realised that the Johnson in question was Lewis Johnston, a player who also did not live up to his pre-draft billing, played only 2 games with us and 10 games overall.

It they went for a Key Position it would soften it but its a huge miss, in the Top 10, he will be a multiple All Australian Midfielder. They all deserve the backlash that comes with that as well as the plaudits for the other picks.
You're breaking my heart waswan - I was prepared to move on now that North had taken Dyl off our hands (4 years, can you believe it?), but find it still hurts just as much.

Without wanting to relitigate old arguments, we’re regearing our list and recruiting team as part of succession planning for Kinnear and following Dalrymple’s departure. Keane gets a well deserved promotion (the couple of people I know at the Swans rave about him) and while it is unusual, Mark McVeigh also will contribute, which makes sense given the role he had before becoming an assistant coach this year.

I think maybe Dad (Jeff White) needs to look up the meaning of “unique”.

In all this talk I don’t believe pick #14 the same year as Rohan #6….er Lewis Jetta anyone? Rohan definitely not a bust. Did Willouby and O’Keefe get well serves mentions? We should have taken Cyril

Rohan a very good servant and an excitement machine..... Easy to forget he suffered one of the most horrific injuries for a young talent as well

Cyril made it very clear that his preference was Hawthorn - so the club avoided Cyril. It was about as close as you can get to draft tampering without being punished. We would have been much better off picking Callan Ward who came with an excellent Swans pedigree.

Willouby and O’Keefe were mentioned above - along with the question whether anyone had any theories about the 1st round flop issue. Sometimes reading the earlier posts in a thread can be of interest.

Ironic that Cyril wanted to go to Hawthorn and now they’re on the verge of a Federal Court appearance. That is one destroyed relationship.

and very pleased Hawthorn appear to be struggling with their rebuild, long may it last :-)

Any truth in Adelaide putting a huge deal in front of Ollie ?

In fact the money and duration makes me think it may be Errol who has the offer

Florent is a free agent, Hayward is a restricted free agent.

Gulden is neither, so he has to ask for a trade (like Papley did a few years ago) if it is a big offer for him that he is interested in.

It might force us to pay Gulden a bit more, or Gulden might only agree to sign on until he reaches free agency, but we don’t have to come close to any monster money or length deal.

We just have to offer Gulden enough to make him sign till free agency, preferably much longer than that.

Same for Logan. No need to match Freo dollars, just have to offer him enough to make him want to stay till free agency or beyond.

But the sheer number of players we need to sign before year end (Gulden, Logan, Florent, Hayward, Rowbottom, Cunningham, about 4-6 others) might mean we lose a couple of players as they don’t get offered enough money.

                                Source?

We do know that Ollie and Will are joined at the hip, maybe they're both going?
