Yeah I'd be prepared to roll the dice especially over someone you have intimate knowledge of.

very underwelding performance. looks like to me that keans maths degree got the better of our recruiting, bring back kinnear as manager of our list. Whats the use of the academy when we dont pick/match the best from it. (maybe we did not have enough points at pick 47 not sue ,can someone check that. . Surprised we did nnot pick cochrane earlier if that is the case ,collingwood sprouted thier interest ages ago. Well I may join the thats the end of the posters.

note that we got a c- (same as nth whi they got c- I are at a lose to understand) but i rate our nights as a d fail. but time will tell. what does not picking cochrane do for our future academy picks like mccatney witha choice available to him.

No. The only movement was the other way, with Parker and Konstanty going to North.

I wonder if he sounded out Melbourne, on just how likely they were to match a bid on Andrew?

Give the lads a chance- there’s talent there for sure but whether any or all make it depends so much on injuries- young bodies still developing and a big step up to play VFL and then potentially get a game or two in the seniors if form warrants. Riak looks like an ideal type and our recruiters rated him ahead of Cochrane- as usual, time will tell. My main concern with Riad is his injury history- out with an ACL and a quad.

I posted before the draft that i hoped we pick a KPD, small fwd, gen def & tall inside mid.. That we achieved 3 of the 4, even though not exactly how i envisaged, still leaves me satisfied overall. As with all drafts, time will be the ultimate judge.

There will be the inedible tracking of Riak Andrew v Joel Cochran.

Ned Bowman imo was our most interesting selection, a mid sized X factor forward, which signals a change in our foward dynamics along with Dattoli.

It looked very much a needs by selections & getting who we had in mind despite the rankings consensus. Jonty Faul was strongly rumoured as our first target but wonder if that was a deliberate dummy ploy?

Edit: Gerard Healy was non plussed that we didn't take Matt Whitlock instead of Bowman after the first night. Interesting to see what he'll think overall of our selections, as he was highlighting our recent draft misses in the lead up.

Not to phased by who we drafted all of them look like they will need a few seasons to develop which I guess isn’t a bad thing seeing how stable our current 22 is - just curious why we didn’t rookie Bice ? Surely he would of been available then and I am a little disappointed for Cochrane as I really love seeing our academy boys come through

Fair point of maybe rooking Bice but my understanding is that the club is committed to rookie both Hamling & Francis who they delisted.

Could be as simple as that.
