Tend to agree with this bit. Compare it to the GWS game, where we came out early in the third, firmly punched them right on the nose with three quick goals, and put the game well out of reach - even allowing for a slow finish. The difference this time is we didn't convert.
'Delicious' is a fun word to say

AFL360 last night thought 1 week suspension for Heeney was fair considering new AFL interpretation.

Whateley showed similar incident in Saturday's Port v Dogs match, Thatcher on Naughton which didn't get cited by the MRO. Thinks Swans might reference this in their defence.

Luke Hodge is the only one in the media i've heard so far who thinks Heeney"s report is a joke & is a fine at worst.

        Quote from Luke Hodge:
"Sydney would be rapt they"ve been worked out now rather than in first week of the finals, which would cause panic"

Went on to reference 2012 season where he thought the Hawks were at their peak after R12 until the GF when we worked them out!

I'm starting to think that many in the AFL media might have backed Daicos, Cripps or Merrett to win the Brownlow.

P.S. Luke Hodge tipped us to win Flag at the beginning of season. Reasoned how incredibly well we did to make finals last year with our crippling injury list after playing in 2022 GF & premiers failing to do so. With a healthier playing list & off-season recruitments, thought we would bounce right back on top stronger.

He kept referring this when other media pundits expressed surprise at our dominant start to the season.

my biggest concern isn't with Heeney getting suspended, it's the injury he's carrying and is this version we will get of him for the rest of the season

2goals and 20+ touches is not a bad version. I think appearance is huge with Heeney, more self aware than most, that report would have been front of mind rest of the game.

I have bigger concerns for Grundy, we are are different side with him in or out of the middle, in fact I can't see us winning anything with him out of the middle. Needs to be shielded more and the current backup isn't doing it atm. Looks 70yrs old when he gets up off the deck.

I'm hoping, as has been said before, the old yearly heavy training block has happened which is why we have been flat.

Yeah, you raise a good point and I hope you’re right ? As we do need him fit and firing.

Are you happy wit the tall defenders at the minute ? I’d love atleast one who could intercept

Put Fox alongside Rampe and the defense is heaps better. Melican and those 2 can lockdown

                    Mccartin and Blakey can intercept.

Hodge is a bit lack lustre with his special comments but is an honest guy. It is a farce if he gets suspended.

I agree Fox should be back, I am hoping Mills will split his time between defense and midfield as he gains match fitness

                            Mills has to be Mid/Def

                            Adams/Parker Mid Fwd

Wicks in the Coaches box, clearly he has an insight no one else has

Not football related I wasn't overly impressed with the pride jumpers worn by our players especially the design around the collar and the sleeves. Why didn't they go with block stripe colours, as per their socks, instead of coloured pebbles?

Agree, they were pretty average. It took me awhile to work out what they were. The GWS indigenous jumper was
outstanding I thought. Probably helped them beat Carlton.
